He hadn’t. Apparently, two years earlier, when his wife had suddenly lost her job, they were struggling badly. The $50 I’d lent him helped cover enough gas for him to get to work until his next paycheck.
According to him, I was one of the only people who helped without making him feel ashamed. He never forgot it. Over the following years, he slowly put money aside whenever he could.
Not because I asked. Because he wanted to repay kindness with kindness. Then he found out I had been laid off, he felt so bad and but at thesame time happy, he fulfilled his silent promise, before I left.
The envelope wasn’t repayment. The original $50 had already been returned months earlier through payroll deductions for a company fundraiser I barely remembered. The money in the envelope was simply his way of helping me during a difficult moment.

Minutes later, a knock echoed through the quiet home. The wife, still feeling justified in her decision, rose and opened the door—only to freeze in shock.
Standing before her was her family. Her father, brothers, sisters, and their children filled the doorway, smiling warmly.
Her father’s deep voice cut through her surprise. “Where is your husband?”
“He… he just left a while ago,” she stammered.
Her father raised an eyebrow. “Strange. He invited us for lunch yesterday why would he leave the house?”

A Nurse can buy a single sandwich for £3 in the hospital cafeteria and she has to pay.
A MP can get British Beef and potato paprika goulash for £3.19 and then make you pay.
They also get free parking and Nurses pay £1300.
I know who deserves a pay rise.

This is so sad that it has got to this. Canada having no option but to resign is outrageous. Who are the beneficiaries of this. It’s not football. Imagine if you ran a company the way this league is run. Not sure it would last long.

Dear All,
A 65 year old Sunday league team @CANADAFC1 from Liverpool has resigned from @BusinessHouses2 due to their lack of incompetence. Help them sort it.
