NOW: The first gubernatorial forum since Eric Swalwell suspended his campaign for California governor is taking place in Sacramento. @CAHispanic Chambers of Commerce is hosting this forum. @madrid_mike is moderating. Candidates in attendance (from left to right on stage): @MattMahanSJ @BettyYeeforCA @SteveHiltonx @XavierBecerra @TomSteyer @AVillaraigosa

NOW: Small business owners, @CAHispanic, and @officialCFCA members are urging the legislature to REJECT Gov. @GavinNewsom’s plan to require oil refiners keep a minimum fuel reserve/inventory. The Newsom administration argues the proposal will result in higher supply, which, in turn, will result in lower prices at the pump. They also argue it will prevent price spikes when refineries have to go down for planned or unplanned maintenance. BUT critics - including those from the business community who spoke at this morning’s press conference - argue Newsom’s plan will lead to increased regulation and costs on refiners, which will be passed on to the consumer in the form of higher gas prices.
