They’re standing in the Oval Office, asking the President of the United States questions to his face, and still shrieking that press freedom just died. That is some world-class, gold-plated, hall-of-fame bullshit. Sarah Huckabee Sanders said it while the cameras were rolling: you’re in the damn Oval, talking to the president. He takes questions live. He posts in public. He governs with the lights on. And these people still need you to believe that yanking a handful of house passes is a dictatorship. What they actually lost is the reserved seat. They spent years treating a White House credential like a constitutional right, then had a public breakdown when the perk got pulled. Watch the con. Russell’s whole racket depends on persuasion you never see. Convictions manufactured offstage. The populace kept stupid about the source. Snow sold as black until you would swear it on a Bible. Trump does the opposite and they lose their minds. He answers in front of cameras. He dumps the argument on social media. He lets you watch the wiring. Their model needs the dark. His method is a floodlight up their ass. So of course they scream censorship. Privilege got confused with liberty, and the second the privilege moved they declared the republic over. Democracy “died in the dark” while they were standing under the lights, holding mics, demanding to be treated like a fourth branch of government. That tantrum is the confession. The old arrangement was never about a free press. It was about a subsidized pulpit inside the building, a guaranteed angle, a planted voice repeating the approved weather report. They can still print whatever lie they want. They can still run the chyron. They can still call snow black until their throats bleed. What they cannot stand is doing it without the official chair and the official air of inevitability. The outrage is the tell.
