No plans to leave Twitter (I literally need it for my job lmao), but with lots of friends and people I follow heading to other platforms, I decided it's finally time to cave. You are now free to yell at me on Bluesky!

Yeah, the pitching situation was a mess, & while the offense was still mixing in some big games, it was basically Pete, Bregman, Conforto, and the occasional hot streak (but also slumps) from Suzuki.
If Pete/Bregman are held in check, it's been *really* hard for them do much.

I absolutely slayed this (if I do say so myself) <brushes off shoulder> I think yinz will dig reading it as much as I did writing it. #herewego

Yep! That’s Hollywood icon, @TomCruise, standing next to the life-size statue of Martin Dihigo with his 1942 KC Monarchs cap! The legendary actor visited the @NLBMuseumKC yesterday after attending the @Chiefs vs @Broncos Monday night game!

3-0 lead lost in Seattle
4-2 lead lost in Seattle with one out to go
4-0 lead lost with 4 outs to go in Arizona
3-0 lead lost to the Reds, losing 10-9
2-0 lead lost to the Reds, losing 7-5
3-0 lead lost today.
The blowouts are fun, but this is a problem. A massive one.

Shota is a cool guy and his *availability* has been, at times, critical. Literally. He’s also had occasionally stretches of dominance, earned even.
But the homers … the runs … it’s just so over. Simply couldn’t start a playoff game unless it becomes absolutely necessary.

Wrigley Fans giving a standing ovation to Baez, a visiting player, who hit 3 HRs in his debut for the same team that intentionally walked Michael Busch, in the 2nd to last game of the season last year (meant nothing to either team in the standings), when he had a chance to hit for the cycle. Just sayin, #WrigleyGetsIt @Cubs

Turning the page, because I'd actually like to enjoy this insane deadline- what a series of acquisitions from the Cubs.
They clearly believe in themselves this year.

Given what has transpired, I have to retract my earlier report about the Cubs acquiring Reid Detmers.
I don't report breaking news often, and I had not been wrong even once before this.
But I was wrong today, it seems. I am sorry. I will do better next time.

The Cubs have not acquired Reid Detmers in a trade with the Angels, per a source.

This such a perfect fit.
Gausman is a low walk arm, who throws a ton of four-seamer strikes that set up his signature splitter.
When he gets beat, it's due to balls in play not going his way.
The Cubs' elite defense is made for him.
The Chicago Cubs are acquiring right-hander Kevin Gausman in a trade with the Toronto Blue Jays, a source tells to ESPN. The Cubs have sought a playoff-caliber starting pitcher all deadline, and now they've landed one. First on the news was @Ken_Rosenthal and @MitchBannon.
