This man plunged to his death in front of a stadium full of people.
Most barely noticed.
People kept filming. The band kept playing. The cheerleaders kept cheering.
Eventually he was evacuated and they still continued the game.
A man lost his life and no one even paused.
An Air Force member has died from injuries he suffered on Saturday while rappelling from the ceiling of the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas, as part of a college football pre-game ceremony honoring the Armed Forces and military veterans, authorities said. abcnews.link/gNNLMAL

Boomer wealth is going to be extracted from them entirely by the healthcare industry and their families will get nothing.
My coworker's mother passed away last November.
She left her modest $190,000 house to him clear and free, no mortgage, completely paid off after thirty years of factory work.
He moved into the home in January to finally settle the estate.
Two weeks ago, a letter arrived from the state Medicaid estate recovery office.
Because his mother spent four months in a rehabilitation facility before she passed, the state quietly slapped a retroactive $114,000 lien against the property title.
He called the state health department, frantic, asking how a hospital stay could bankrupt an inherited home that had no mortgage balance.
The caseworker sighed and told him:
"Federal law requires state programs to claw back healthcare costs from deceased estates. The house cannot be sold or transferred until the balance is cleared in full."
He offered to pay a monthly settlement.
They said no. The full $114,000 is due in 60 days, or they foreclose on the property at a public auction.
A lifetime of working-class savings, wiped out overnight by a retroactive healthcare lien.
You don't own generational wealth.
You're just holding a property title until the state finds a legal mechanism to repossess it the moment you die.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Because the house is worth $190,000 and the average house sale price is over$440,000, the house likely qualifies for the "modest value" exemption. (Check county values)
YOU MUST APPLY FOR THIS WITHIN 60 DAYS OF GETTING THE NOTICE!!!

This is disgusting. Absolutely disgusting. And we still go into billions more debt each year.

Another incredible vote blue no matter who moment 👍🏼
James Carville says he'd rather have Republicans keep control of the House than Democrats winning the chamber by 5 seats.
"I would rather the Republicans keep the House by five than the Democrats win by five, because if that happens, they’re hostage to the DSA. Like, Hakeem cannot move. There’s no place for him to go."

DONALD TRUMP JUST TOLD A FEDERAL JUDGE TO GO TO HELL SO HE CAN BUILD HIMSELF A GOLF COURSE
A judge ordered a stop. In writing. Through October 26th. No work without court notice first
Trump's National Park Service didn't wait. In a matter of HOURS on October 10th they chainsawed down more than 400 TREES across a public golf course owned by the American people
This is East Potomac. A municipal course regular DC families actually use. Trump's plan: shut the whole thing down for FIFTEEN MONTHS starting in November and hand it a "championship" makeover
Judge Reyes was not having it. Told DOJ lawyers to their faces they'd lost all credibility. One of them claimed they did their "best." She shot back "no you did your absolute worst"
Read that twice. A FEDERAL JUDGE said Trump's own Justice Department did its ABSOLUTE WORST defending this
A preservation group already sued, calling it exactly what it is — an attempt to irreparably destroy a priceless piece of American history so Trump can carve out an "exclusive high-end golf course" on land that belongs to everyone else
This is not a renovation. This is a sitting president bulldozing a public park, defying a court order to do it, and torching 400 trees before anyone could stop him
Ordinary Americans get arrested for ignoring a judge. Trump gets a press conference and a ribbon cutting
This is the same man who can't keep gas prices down, can't keep his approval above 33 percent, and is bribing voters in Kentucky with taxpayer cash — but he always finds time and federal muscle for his own golf course
He wants a monument to himself paved over public land, judge's orders be damned
Share this before they finish paving over the evidence

Abdul owned him right here.
Trump can say every Arabic and Islamic name just right when he has his lips puckered up against their butts begging for something.
Also, shame on any Muslim that has ever worked with Trump or ever does again.

It is a basic principle of American democracy that the government can’t selectively target individuals simply because of their political beliefs or what they say. But that’s exactly what the Trump Administration is doing to Congresswoman Ilhan Omar of Minnesota.
To understand why this is so appalling, it’s important to know the facts. Congresswoman Omar came to this country with her father when she was 12 years old. Five years later, her father became a naturalized citizen. If Ilhan had been 18 at the time, she would have had to apply for citizenship separately. But because she was 17, she became a naturalized citizen automatically.
Congresswoman Omar went on to graduate from college, work as a community organizer, become the first Somali-American legislator elected to public office in the U.S., and win a seat in Congress. There, she has been one of the Trump Administration’s fiercest critics, which has led the president to repeatedly single her out as someone who he believes does not belong in this country.
Now the Administration is actively trying to deport Congresswoman Omar, seemingly based solely on the unsubstantiated theory that she was actually 18 when her father was naturalized, and therefore is not a citizen. Federal agents have raided her home, confiscated personal records, and seized her phone — all to try and uncover a nonexistent smoking gun from 20 years ago that will somehow make their case.
Think about that. The full weight of the federal government is being brought down on a law-abiding elected official because she has dared to criticize the president. And it’s not the first time this has happened. Under President Trump, the Justice Department has repeatedly gone after those he considers his political enemies — from the Attorney General of New York, to the former head of the FBI, to members of the Federal Reserve.
In those cases, the prosecutions either stalled or were dismissed for having no basis in law, and the same is likely to happen in this case. But not before Congresswoman Omar’s life has been turned upside down, her legal bills have piled up, and she’s been forced to spend time fighting unsubstantiated charges instead of serving the people of Minnesota.
The fact that any president, or any administration, is willing to engage in such transparent efforts to intimidate someone should outrage all Americans, regardless of how they feel about Congresswoman Omar’s political views. Because if this becomes the new normal, there’s no reason to believe it will stop with her — or that future presidents, in either party, won’t do the same.

He died. Thanks @PeteHegseth @SecWar for yet another pointless and tragic recruiting spectacle
A U.S. Army officer falls to the field at high speed during a fast rope demonstration gone wrong during the Navy vs UTSA pregame tonight.
The officer was attended to on the field and taken to the hospital on a stretcher. There has been no update on his condition but we pray that he was not seriously injured.

Air Force confirmed the service member, a USAF Airman, died from injuries after the rappelling demonstration. It was not a fast-rope or Army officer.

I totally get this. When I first flew into Rome I was so emotional to visit the seat of my Catholic faith. I kicked a Muslim family out of their house, I burned their car, stole their possessions and threatened to kill them. Now I have a holiday home just a mile from the Vatican.
I was on a flight to Israel and struck up a conversation with the lady beside me. She was Jewish; her family were Holocaust survivors. As we saw the coastline of Israel from the window, she burst into tears. It was her first time visiting. Tell me again how Jews have no connection to the land of Israel.
