You are not a machine. You’re a soul who needs music, books, connection, sunsets, laughter, and small pockets of joy. Prioritize them like your life depends on it, because it does. Life isn’t meant to be a cycle of stress and survival. Pause. Look up. Let the sunset remind you: you’re here to live, not just to hustle. Life is not a to-do list. It’s a gift. Walk slower. Hug longer. Laugh louder. Love deeper. The clock may be ticking, but your presence is timeless. We’ve been conditioned to believe that constant productivity equals worth, but humans weren’t designed for endless output. We need moments of wonder, connection, and rest, not as rewards for hard work, but as essential ingredients for a meaningful life.

"Without art we would be nothing but foreground and live entirely in the spell of that perspective which makes what is closest at hand and most vulgar appear as if it were vast, and reality itself."

Things folks don't know about Pittsburgh and our Industrial Revolution past; we weren't just leading the world in industry, we were also in the arts.
In 1895, Andrew Carnegie, the undisputed titan of the steel industry, founded the Carnegie Institute, he wanted to make Pittsburgh “as famous for art as it is now for steel,” so he established an annual survey exhibition of art from which the museum would purchase prizewinners and key works to build its collection.
international contemporary art.
Pittsburgh’s extraordinary cultural wealth is the direct legacy of its industrial golden age.

After 2020, a lot of people swung from trusting every expert without question to treating everything as a psyop, and both reflexes cost us the same thing: a shared sense of what's real that our parents, deferring to trusted professionals or spiritual leaders, mostly took for granted.
There's a big danger in this kind of kneejerk distrust: the boy who cried wolf was eventually right, but nobody listened.

There's simple, and there's "simple." There's no reason you can't elevate even a basic unlined belt to something a little more thoughtful and refined.
Full length creasing and burnishing, overcast stitch ends, and a really solid piece of cowhide.

Note to self:
Doubt, uncertainty, fear. Yes. Natural. You’d be a fool without them. But they are only a starting point.
Pray. Do your work. Cultivate hope. Pray some more.
No dooming.
Ok, turning in for the night.
