"Jay-Z could formally announce the Super Bowl gig this weekend, when he plays the first of two nearly sold-out shows at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles" also it says his 1 paris show made 12M gross.

probably just an error
Ariana Grande is the sole credited songwriter on “hate that i made you love me” for its Song of the Year submission at the 2027 #GRAMMYs. If nominated, she would become just the 9th female songwriter this century to receive a Song of the Year nomination as the sole credited songwriter.

no SOTY or R&B Song? I can’t find any rule that would prevent this, interesting.

remember the already gone/halo drama she created out of nowhere? she can be that passive aggressive while playing the victim. just saying...

very interesting and bold choice. the fact that the cure wasn't even a single.
Olivia Rodrigo did not submit “drop dead” or “stupid song” for consideration at the 2027 Grammys.

Taylor Swift’s “Patient Zero” is aiming for a second consecutive week at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 based on midweek forecasts. 140K pure sales projected second week.

not only is that not the same person who reviewed TTPD, if anything, it just shows this person was being fair.
This is INSANE. The writer who wrote the 4.0 review of The Encore admits that he previously hated TTPD because of internet discourse but now loves it. In no world is it acceptable to have someone review an artist they admit they can't be objective on. Even at Pitchfork.

the narrative is funny. it’s 2026. everyone, not just celebrities, uses airbrushing and filters. photoshoots have been retouching people’s faces and body for decades. trying to make this specifically her problem is, once again… weird.

also lighting, angles, and professional photography can make a huge difference. everyone looks better with them. apparently that’s a very foreign concept to some people… lol

Spotify has a new feature called "SongDNA" which is higher up than "Song Credits". I noticed some people use this instead of Song Credits. The thing is, Song Credits come directly from the record label, while SongDNA just pulls data from WhoSampled, which is unofficial.

WhoSampled is a user-based website where people link songs that sound similar, even if they're not officially interpolated or sampled. SongDNA uses that website, so it says Olivia Dean’s song has an interpolation, while the official credits don’t. This has caused some confusion

and apparently, even Song Credits directly from the record label can be misleading. Recently, drake decided to upload his own "edited" PR credits to Spotify, listing himself as the sole songwriter on all the songs on his new album. xitter.cf/BsourceB/status/209404…
lol so drake's team posted their own unofficial credit on Spotify. these are the actual songwriter credits from ASCAP. 13 names on the list.

her team handled it horribly, while Withers’ team actually handled it fairly. they didn’t even name Olivia in the lawsuit. "it reached out to the defendants on Aug. 17, notifying them of the alleged infringement, but they allegedly continued... without any change in credit."
Olivia Dean's "I've Seen It" is accused of copying Bill Withers' "Just the Two of Us" in a new lawsuit. The publisher behind Withers' catalog calls the similarities “obvious and inescapable.” 🔗: rollingstone.com/music/music…

this was the norm back in the day, very weirdo behavior to do this. also Check on it was #1 on digital sales chart for 2wks, irreplaceable was #1 for 4wks. those sales were normal too. again, very weirdo behavior but expected from someone who learns charts through twitter.
y’all are genuinely trying to convince normal people that these numbers are more organic and less label-controlled than what we see today lmfao

Again, Twitter vibe. Why remove the context here? "Rihanna’s giant Hot 100 leap was fueled by Def Jam finally making “SOS” available for purchase at digital download retailers." - Billboard

Fun fact: Check on It hit #1 on the sales chart before it even hit #1 on the Hot 100. and when it first hit #1 on the Hot 100, it was also #1 on the sales chart. Jan 28 : #1 Sales, #3 Airplay #2 Hot 100 Feb 04 : #1 Sales, #1 Airplay, #1 Hot 100

btw, umbrella used the same tactic. also, download sales were rapidly growing around that time. "The year ended on an even high as digital track downloads hit 43 million in the last week of 2007, up 42.5% from the 30.1 million generated in the final week of 2006." - Billboard

and this is why I don't take those talk of the charts, Lip whatever, or any of those chart twitter accounts seriously... they're a bunch of stan twitter kids who learn about charts through silly stan wars and weaponize numbers for likes. no context, no analysis. very shallow.
