NWS has issued a winter weather advisory until 11 am Thursday. With temperatures dropping below freezing overnight all roadways, especially bridges, will be frozen and extremely dangerous for travel. All city, county and government offices in Bryan County will be closed.
Roads and bridges are ICED OVER, driving conditions are extremely dangerous. Conditions have caused multiple wrecks and depleting county emergency response resources. Please stay indoors! If you have questions, please contact us at (912) 858-4636
Roads and especially bridges and overpasses can become very dangerous. We encourage everyone to stay indoors, stay informed and stay safe and warm. Do not venture out unless it is an emergency.
We have the potential for freezing rain, sleet and snow with accumulation of 1 to 3 inches. We have the potential for wind gusts up to 25 mph that could increase the risk of downed trees or power lines covered with ice or snow.
Following a winter storm warning issued by the National Weather Service, and acting on recommendations from State Emergency Operations Command, Governor Deal has declared a STATE OF EMERGENCY for all coastal Georgia counties effective IMMEDIATELY through Friday, January 5th.
BCES has a dedicated Hurricane Irma Information Line. 912-858-4636 is the number. Please call this number for information.
