.@NBN_Australia for the second time now I've had my fibre upgrade appointment cancelled on the day on install, and pushed out by a month. Is this really acceptable?
78
.@NBN_Australia Two cancellations for appointments for fibre upgrades in a month, and no option for an alternative for another month. Not acceptable, and both times cancellations on the day.

To all other AU #iOS users - did your calendar app switch to starting on a Monday at some point? I had to switch it back to start on Sunday in settings - apparently Mon is AU default. Since when has Mon ever been the default in #AU. Our politician fridge magnets all start on Sun!
Bought a new #secretlab Titan chair and enjoying it so far. Assembly was simple and it feels sturdy with great support.

I’ve enjoyed printing custom parts for board games since getting my @Prusa3D #MK3S. This one is for Elevenses - I think it turned out great! Still some room for minor tweaks, but all in all a great result.

*This* close to heading to the Energy ombudsman. Turns out @originenergy arbitrarily cancelled my request to change providers, and keep passing the buck and blaming the other retailer. Totally unacceptable given they approved my other account.

#pyconau @jim_mussared “lamented” on “[the state] of education in this country” during his lightning talk. I’ll tell you how it’s changing and what you can do to help (including raising the profile of #Python) at 1:30 today in the Cockle Bay room (all it takes is a pull request).

At #pyconau this year I’ve co-organised the Edu track and thus will be sharing some Edu wisdom in MainConf on Sunday. BUT, I’m also asking for help - join me and share the cool frameworks and tutorials you’ve used to learn python! #flask #pandas #micropython

There are always clashes in a conference program, but do come and hear from me at 11:45 in Studio 2 where I’ll explain how Digital Technologies and Cyber Security fit together and can be taught with free resources in high school #DigiCon19

.@auspost Received confirmation today that mail sent to my old address was returned instead of redirected. I am livid - have contacted you multiple times only to be told everything was in order. Why am I paying for a service that I can’t rely on? These were important docs!
1
Hey @auspost - if I pay for a mail redirection and it’s organised more than a week ahead of the date, why am I getting mail delivered to my old address within the redirect period? Hopefully this will be the last bit?

This is worth reading before you dive too deeply into the VR/AR kool-aid. There’s still a ways to go before it truly revolutionises anything.

Rant: Nine reasons why I don't believe in current VR/AR technology. HoloLens, Magic Leap, and Oculus: Mind-blowing videos, and the market is estimated to explode to $200 billion by 2025 (Statista). So what's wrong? HCI research tells why we haven't seen a killer app yet: 1/22

Not sure about percentage because context matters. However, this graphic shows the sweet spot is lots of teacher directed. But the effect is doubled when inquiry-based methods are used sometimes. #edureading
