I redesigned Flux! I’m ludicrously proud of the work and giddy to have it out to users.
I’m proud to be on the team with these legends
Matthias and Lance started Flux in 2019 on a fairly plain premise: building electronics is harder than it needs to be.
The bet now looks like this, a PCB editor that runs in a browser tab, with an agent that plans the design, generates the schematic, places and routes it, and checks its own work along the way.
The mission line hasn't changed since day one. Take the hard out of hardware.
Unless.
“To build a product in this space, it’s inevitable to build on the existing foundations, otherwise your tool will not get adoption (unless you figure out how to build all of CAD, CAM, CAE, PLM, PDM 100x better overnight)”
At @BuildWithFlux, we love “unless…” 😄
I’m inspired by this piece, and I feel seen. When I look around SF, I see too few smart people working on truly world changing projects. We need more.
staff slop cannon, reporting for duty!
Our 2026 Design in AI Report is now live!
This report is the culmination of thousands of people hours and many late nights to create what we believe is the most comprehensive, well-researched report capturing and synthesizing the state of Design + AI today.
While we used AI in many areas, a report like this still required deep thinking, grit, and humans coming together to do what they do best.
The final report spans nearly 20k words covering the survey results of over 900 people paired with dozens of qualitative interviews.
Over the coming months we will also release 7 beautiful case studies showing how top design teams are working on the ground featuring designers at @AnthropicAI, @framer, @linear, @NotionHQ, @Shopify, @SierraPlatform, and @stripe.
This work is a true labor of love to help guide a design community we hold so dear.
Link in the comments and please let us know what you think. Your feedback helps us shape how we will evolve this work over the coming years...
We use Devin… A LOT. So got curious and asked the @cognition team, “Where does @BuildWithFlux rank in terms of Devin usage?” Guess what! We’re 2nd!! Like, in the world!!!
Ok ok apparently we’re only 2nd out of the self serve category. Enterprise go brrr. Not AS impressive as a global 2nd place but look, there still time!

Is there a name for the “house style” for AI’s visual design? It’s distinct. I can spot a slop website instantly.
It has never been more clear to me that this space is begging to be productized.
Claire literally spells it out: “It’s a pain to set up, it’s not hands off, but the value is so high, I am willing to go through the pain.”
Claire Vo's first day with @OpenClaw it deleted her family calendar.
Now she runs 9 agents across 3 Mac Minis, and said "I haven't felt like this since I was a teenager learning to code."
Her sales agent Sam does a daily CRM sweep, identifies decision-makers from new signups, and sends personalized outreach—replacing a part-time salesperson she was paying 10 hours a week.
Her home agent Finn pings her and her husband every day at 3pm: "Which of you is picking up which kids?" Then flags when the oldest's basketball conflicts with the middle kid's soccer and asks how they want to split duties.
She also has agents for podcast prep, kids' homework help, and course project management.
Claire (host of How I AI, founder of @ChatPRD) started as one of OpenClaw's most vocal skeptics. She now calls it "a ChatGPT moment."
In our in-depth conversation, she breaks down:
🔸 Her exact setup: Mac Mini, separate Gmail, dedicated local account
🔸 The progressive trust model: first calendar access, then read email, then draft, then send — just like onboarding an EA
🔸 Why one agent is a mistake—and why she thinks about it like Slack channels, not a single assistant
🔸 How to use Claude Code as a "brain surgeon" to fix and manage your OpenClaw when things break
🔸 "The yappers API" — why rambling into a voice note is the highest-bandwidth way to set up your agent
🔸 Why management skills matter more than technical skills for making this actually work

Folks are sharing endless tips for how to get Claude to behave even a little bit like how Devin behaves out of the box.
A lot of people claim to have invented Agentic coding
But you know who really invented it…the @cognition team!
Engineers laughed at them when @DevinAI originally launched in 2024
Devin is the first AI software engineer, the first agentic coder, the first IDE free software engineering workflow!
The best part: they are still years ahead of any other agentic coding tool you heard of
The 50Y team is excellent at framing narratives, bringing the data, and blazing a trail to a better future. They’ve done it again with their new podcast.
We steer where we look.
Motorcycle riders call it target fixation. Stare at the pothole and you become more likely to hit it. Look toward the open road and that's where you'll go.
Every major technology in history arrived wrapped in fear. The printing press destabilized authority. Industrialization displaced workers and fractured communities. Nuclear physics made annihilation possible. The fears weren't wrong - but they weren't the whole story. The harms were real, and so were the benefits. In every case, we found a narrative that made the danger worth moving through.
We don't have that story right now.
The people building the most consequential technologies in history are largely silent on the human questions. The technical and business questions get endless attention. The deeper ones don't. What are we for when intelligence is no longer scarce? What can the role of a human being grow into – or return to?
These questions aren't being asked seriously, in public, by the people closest to the frontier. That silence itself is its own kind of steering.
We need the builders to tell their stories. Honest accounts of what they see, and what they believe we could become. And we need to bring others in: educators, artists, spiritual leaders, legislators – people with hard-won perspective on what it means to be human.
That's why we started Progress. The story of what we could become is waiting to be told. We're trying to be one place where it gets told honestly - with curiosity, rigor, and a willingness to sit with what we don't yet know.
Look toward what you want to become.
