Today sees the launch of the first LLNI policy manifesto, created by our policy & advocacy group, made up of patients, family members, clinicians & researchers.
Our work is ongoing and we always welcome new members to the group, as this allows our policy work to be well informed.

50,000 new cases of myeloma are diagnosed in Europe each year.
Despite this, myeloma remains little known because its symptoms are often mistaken for other conditions. Many of these patients face a long road to diagnosis.

Stephen, our lived experience is a force for earlier diagnosis and stronger public awareness of #ovariancancer . 2 people have approached me, after recognising me from this poster, both had lost loved ones who never knew the symptoms. This is why public messaging matters. 📢
So Boots will not display poster on #OvarianCancer symptoms in NI stores even when developed by @TargetOvarian experts
Awareness low here hindering earlier diagnosis & better outcomes
They may consider helping sometime
How many NI women could have been helped in interim?

Boys need protection too. HPV is linked to several cancers such as penile, head, throat and neck.

No healthcare worker should be afraid to go to work or fear being targeted because of their ethnicity. Our health service relies on the dedication of a diverse workforce who make an invaluable contribution to caring for our communities.
I stand with all those affected.

Thank you Kieran Cuddihy @rteliveline for the invitation to speak about the real‑world impact of the unrest in #NorthernIreland on cancer patients. People living with cancer don’t need more barriers to life‑saving treatment. Nor do the staff who deliver it.
