Being 45 is such a strange experience.
One minute, you want to make more money, get ridiculously fit, reinvent your entire life, and become the healthiest version of yourself.
The next minute, you want to disappear into the mountains for three weeks, turn your phone off, avoid everyone, and remember what peace feels like.
You want adventure, but you also want your own bed.
You want to be productive, but you also want to cancel every plan you’ve made.
You want to build wealth, travel the world, and accomplish big things, but you also consider 8:30 p.m. a perfectly reasonable bedtime.
And honestly? A mug of hot chocolate, a cozy blanket, and absolutely nobody asking you for anything sounds like the ultimate luxury.
Is this what getting older feels like, or have I just reached the age where peace and quiet are the real definition of success? 😂

It’s the kind of program you would expect a publicly traded company to roll out if a high-priced consultant like BCG was brought in with the express purpose of destroying the business from the inside out by completely alienating your customer base

I’ve long been critical of the UX of self custody and the culture which encouraged it to remain terrible.
Here’s a dirty secret: a large contingent of Bitcoin maxis do NOT care about mainstream adoption. They have little regard for people w different circumstances to theirs.
They look at the technical barriers as a legitimate form of gatekeeping the community from “impurities”.
It’s no less than elitism dressed up as virtue or concern for security.
They love belonging to a counter culture , which has consumed their identities, and they can’t handle people unlike them benefiting from bitcoin without deferring to their values and acknowledging their “seniority”.
It’s a complete lack of empathy that sometimes relishes in the suffering of others, whether through loss of Bitcoin, or exclusion altogether.
It’s a regressive and destructive mindset I hate w a passion.

The Bitcoin Mining Museum has officially evolved into the new Bitcoin Discovery Center. A 30,000 sq ft facility in Dallas, TX that will house the Museum, an Education Center working with youth, a Bitcoin art gallery, and the world’s first Bitcoin storefront.
It will also include an Event Center available to book for Bitcoin-themed weddings, conference side events, meetups, and more—all under a new nonprofit status.
We have done SO MUCH legwork to get here. Now we need YOU, the Bitcoin community, to help us reach a grand opening. We have already received $25,000 this morning from an OG donor.
