At 8:47 a.m. on November 3, my mother called me with the news I had been dreading. My dad had passed away.
This is his story — and why he was my father in every way that mattered. 🧵
On October 30, he told me about his first Phillies game — Connie Mack Stadium, 1969, with his father and cousin Pete.
I played him one of his favorites, "Do You Really Want to Hurt Me." He smiled through the whole song.
I helped him drink some water — like when I was a little boy, getting him glass after glass.
My dad didn't give me life, but he helped teach me how to live it. He didn't have to be there. He chose to be — every day, for 32 years.

He tried to get life insurance and was denied because of a bad heart. So there's nothing there to cover his funeral or to help my mom after. That's why we're asking. If you knew Dominick, you know he'd have given you the shirt off his back — he took care of everybody else first.
