I normally keep my political views to myself and off social media. Those conversations can get heated quickly, but I feel like making an exception here.
Recently, I had the opportunity to meet Congressman Chris Pappas (@ChrisPappasNH) a Stand With Crypto (@standwithcrypto) roundtable, and I came away genuinely impressed. He clearly cares about New Hampshire businesses, the tech community, and the little guy trying to build something. As one of those little guys, that meant a lot to me.
I’m grateful I had the chance to meet him and wish him the best of luck in his upcoming Senate race.

A Web3 project’s responsibilities continue after launch. Communities deserve to know what’s been delivered, what’s delayed and what has changed. That ongoing accountability is central to the ecosystem we’re building at Brigid Forge.
The mindset we want to change in Web3: treating reasonable questions as FUD. Asking about allocations, permissions or missed milestones is part of an informed community. At Brigid Forge, we want that scrutiny to be expected and welcomed.
We’re building Brigid Forge around a higher standard for Web3: clear information about who controls funds, what can change and where to verify it. People should have those answers before being asked to commit.
Brigid Forge’s founder offers additional details on why it is so important to look at the broader challenges facing Web3 regulation.
I’ve been reflecting on yesterday’s blockchain roundtable, especially the conversation around regulation and decentralization.
I think regulation has an important role in this space. But I also don’t think regulation alone fixes the problem.
Regulation has much clearer points of enforcement when dealing with centralized exchanges and other identifiable businesses. DeFi is different. A decentralized exchange or protocol can operate globally, without the same traditional company, custody or control structure sitting behind it.
And there’s another challenge: this industry moves incredibly fast.
Regulations can take months or years of careful work to develop and make their way through the legislative process. Meanwhile, decentralized protocols, smart contracts and the way people interact with them can change almost overnight. A rule written around the way something works today may have a very different technology to contend with by the time it takes effect.
That doesn’t mean we shouldn’t have regulation. It means regulation can’t be the only answer.
The industry has a responsibility too.
We should be building systems where projects can voluntarily commit to things like transparent allocations, locked or vested assets, delayed withdrawals and other protections that anyone can verify on-chain.
Not instead of regulation.
Alongside it.
At the end of the day, I don’t think the answer is asking people to trust crypto more.
I think the answer is giving them fewer reasons to have to trust anyone in the first place.
Make the commitments visible. Make them verifiable. And wherever possible, make them enforceable by the technology itself.
That’s the direction I’d like to see this space move.
Accountability should last beyond launch day.
Across Brigid Forge, Brigid Herald and Block Burrow, we’re building toward clearer launch terms, clearer hiring commitments and ongoing on-chain visibility, so communities can keep checking what was promised.
A community shouldn’t have to find out what’s happening with a launch after the money moves.
We’re building Brigid Forge around visible launch terms and delayed withdrawals, so people have time to look, ask questions and make their own call.
What makes a Web3 community worth sticking around for when the market’s boring?
Good conversations? People helping each other? Something else?
“Just checking CT for five minutes” is how you lose an afternoon and become weirdly invested in a feud between two cartoon animals.
Before you book a Web3 campaign, agree on the deliverables, deadline and what counts as completed work.
A little clarity upfront can save a lot of frustration later.
