The fab @BridgetoUnityUK team chose a big day to visit @UKParliament #Budget25! It was great to catch up with them and the Ukrainian residents from across our region that they support.
What a great morning! Huge thanks to @cj_dinenage and your office for helping to organise today. @BridgetoUnityUK #Budget25

Three years ago this day, the Lead Company Group (LCG) was deployed on Operation PITTING. Members of all three battalions of The Parachute Regiment and a company from the Yorkshire Regiment were present in Kabul over the following weeks. The rest is history...

@JohnHealey_MP was excellent in the immediate aftermath of the Fall of Kabul. I hope that now he's Secretary of Defence he will help us sort ARAP and ACRS and get families evacuated

Looking back on moments meeting evacuees in the UK and visiting the Ukrainian border reception center. My heart aches seeing the profound sorrow of those forced to abandon their homes. The lingering pain etched in peoples faces will stay with me.

Really proud of the team this year. Further to go, but feel like a shift has taken place in Veterans Affairs this year. The esteem in which Veterans are held by Government and the country has changed and we can all feel it. Thanks for all your support.

2 years we’ve been friends and it’s certainly a laugh a minute when we get together. Crazy how things work out- dropped me a message over FB during Afghan Evacs, made it to the UK months later and I was the first to greet them in a bridging hotel and now a super volunteer for us.

Glad to see @BridgetoUnityUK’s #OpAllies to support those evacuated is still out there and people are reaching out for support across the UK. Working together as part of a coalition of Charities really does add huge benefit. 🇦🇫🇬🇧

Foreign Office has told an Afghan refugee that they housed him for 19 months in a UK-funded hotel in Pakistan, and helped him get a visa, by mistake.
They’ve given his family 14 days to leave and said it was all ‘in error’. He says he sold all he had to get to Pakistan.

👋 Twitter friends, you’ve helped me before & I need you again! Two of the Afghan families I work with (both ex British forces interpreters who fled the Taliban on the ARAP scheme) are in need of a double pushchair, drop me a msg if you can help in anyway or donate, thank you 🙏🏻

On @BBCNewsnight tonight. We speak to some Afghans brought to the UK because they worked as interpreters with British forces. Today they face eviction from hotels. When will they have a permanent home? @EmirNader reports. @mpolachowska Producer
