All the “they’re not a real hardcore band anymore” comments mean absolutely nothing to me when this is what Turnstile’s free shows look like. No cool guys on stage with their arms crossed, $200,000+ raised, and an estimated 60,000 people having an incredible time and going nuts with the band they love
Growing up going to hardcore shows I never thought in my wildest dreams shit like this would happen

I've seen some interviews with Billy Corgan this week where he proclaims himself to be one of the greatest songwriters of all time. Later-day crimes against music have you scoffing at such a proclamation; then you remember he wrote songs like this in his heyday...
Released in 1996 as the second single from Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness, “1979” became the Smashing Pumpkins' biggest American hit, reaching No. 12 on the Billboard Hot 100 and No. 1 on both the Modern Rock Tracks and Mainstream Rock Tracks charts. The album was eventually certified 10× Platinum in the United States. “1979” was almost left off the album: producer Flood gave Corgan a final deadline to complete the unfinished song or remove it from the record. Corgan went home, finished the lyrics that night, and returned the next day with a new demo that convinced Flood to keep it. Billy Corgan wrote the track as a nostalgic reflection on adolescence and the transition into adulthood. Although the title refers specifically to the year Corgan was 12, the song is less a literal autobiography than an idealised reflection on what it felt like to be young.

Lovely to see a team with confidence out there. This team has been a joy to follow since the change in management - long may it continue 🔴⚪

I couldn't believe how meek St Pats were tonight either. Some good fast breaking play in the first half but no cutting edge. I thought they would have come snarling out of the traps tonight.

Derry City FC notes the comments regarding mental health made by James McClean and published in yesterday’s Sunday Independent. The Club wishes to make clear that these views do not reflect our core values or beliefs. The Club places the highest priority on the mental health and wellbeing of our players, staff and the wider Derry City community. derrycityfc.net/2026/10/stat… Supported by our in-house psychologist, the Club actively encourages anyone facing mental health challenges to speak openly, seek support and know they never have to face such challenges alone. The Club has accepted an invitation to meet with Men’s Action Network (MAN) to discuss these issues.

Difficult to be critical after making a cup final, but, the malaise of not fancying games at venues like Drogheda is still a thing 🔴⚪
That wasn't as fun as last weekend.

I remember when Ireland was a poor country, our trains used to have full dining cars with cooked breakfasts, hot dinners, and dedicated bar areas. Paradoxically, now that we're a rich country, we can't afford these services.

You know the game at the top level is gone when the people providing insight are financial analysts and money experts.

The mind boggles that anyone listens to this wee cunt.
Leading local journalist Amanda Ferguson has publicly stated this morning that the "Driving Force" behind this current Drumcree Dispute "warrants more scrutiny". She is referring of course to Jamie Bryson. For the past year or more Bryson has persuaded leading Unionist Party's - and the DUP (in particular) to embark on a course of action which has led us to this point. There has never been a full-scale (and proper) journalistic investigation into Jamie Bryson. Who funds him? What exactly are his sources of income? What exactly are his links and access to the DUP and TUV? Does he have any links to Loyalist Paramiltaries? If so, what are they? It is long overdue that the local Press/Media took a serious look at an individual who has had a very destabilising effect on the entire political process here. He is currently threatening an end to the Stormont Assembly. Who will step forward and investigate? That is the question...

Do these people not have jobs to go to?
Update: Orange men are walking to police lines every 30 mins or so now asking the PSNI if they can facilitate the parade. PSNI Superintendent Brendan Green told them that it is still not safe to move them down the Garvaghy Road. The standoff continues @BelTel
