I recently had the pleasure of sitting down with Adam Christing, a humorist, keynote speaker, and author, to talk about the power of laughter, connection, and storytelling. Adam has spent four decades performing more than 4,000 humor presentations for CEOs, Fortune 500 companies, major nonprofits, and high-stakes audiences around the world. He is a member of Hollywood’s iconic Magic Castle, has worked with David Copperfield, authored The Laugh Factor: The 5 Humor Tactics to Link, Lift, and Lead, and is the CEO of Clean Comedians®, a business that uses humor to bring people together rather than driving them apart. Adam is more than just a gifted public speaker and performer. He is a student of human nature. In our conversation, he explains how comedy works psychologically, why humor diffuses conflict, how it disarms resistance, and how it allows leaders to deliver truth without putting people on the defensive. Adam also offers a brilliant blueprint for anyone who speaks publicly. Executives, trial lawyers, entrepreneurs, military leaders, and educators, can all benefit from Adam’s crash course in how to grab an audience’s attention and keep it. We break down how great presenters prepare, how to deal with nerves, why silence is so powerful, how to tailor your message to the room, and how storytelling can transform information into impact. Along the way, Adam tells stories about joining the Magic Castle as a teenager, bombing on stage, learning from masters like Johnny Carson and Winston Churchill, and discovering that audiences do not want perfection - they want presence. He also explains why the boundaries of “clean comedy” actually make comedy more creative, why leaders should practice humor like a skill, and why audiences always root for the person at the microphone. This episode is about leadership, persuasion, communication, and how to connect through humour. It is also full of laughs. I invite you to listen to the full conversation and learn how humor can help you become a better leader, speaker, and storyteller. And now I give you, Adam Christing. brianbeckcom.com/laughter-an…

Since the start of last year, Notre Dame's 16 wins have come against teams that are a combined 62-91 vs FBS opponents (.405) and 32-78 vs P4 opp (.290). Take off the 16 L to the Irish and its 32-62 vs P4...

Building the ideal NFL roster based entirely on their relationship situation: QB: Married to an above-average looking woman he met before he was famous. Attractive, supportive, but not Madison Beer hot. QB1 cannot have distractions. RB: Knocked up his college girlfriend sophomore year. Still with her. 3 kids. Rumored mistress that everyone in the organization knows about but nobody discusses. May have one domestic violence charge that got dropped. WR1: Completely single. Zero responsibilities. Following 4,700 women on Instagram. Let him cook. WR2: Dating an Instagram model with 800k followers. Relationship is extremely toxic. Somehow this makes him better. Slot WR: White guy married to a beautiful mid blonde. Golden retriever. Two kids. Lives 12 minutes from the facility. Automatic on 3rd & 7. TE: Dating a famous actress/singer who gets shown during every broadcast. Annoying but necessary for team morale. LT/RT: Married to high school sweethearts. Southern women. Three kids minimum. Own homes on 5+ acres. Absolutely zero nightlife. Guards: Also married. Wives are best friends. Joint family vacations every offseason. Center: Has been with the same woman since 8th grade. She packs his lunch. WR3: Single, but not famous enough to pull WR1 numbers. Gets the girls WR1 stopped responding to. Kicker: Wife is inexplicably a 10. Nobody understands how he did it. Punter: You have literally no idea if he has ever spoken to a woman. This team goes 14-3.

Just found out about recency bias. Maybe the most important bias ever

Yup
Reminder that Notre Dame quit their bowl game because they thought they were too good to play BYU.

Notre Dame lost to the one ranked team they’ve played all season. The preferential treatment of that prima donna program has got to stop.

Nick Saban was paying players illegally for years at Alabama. Everyone got NIL access and his ass ran from the grind. Now he’s the face of “protecting college sports”. Cut the shit old man.

Congrats to Notre Dame for continuing its streak of losing every single time they play an actual football team.

The 4 things I would love to see @AggieFootball do tomorrow: 1. I would love to see more QB designed runs. Yes, we will only win the game because of our pass game, but Marcel having success on the ground will help him be more effective passing. It will also force the defense respect his ability to use his legs. 2. I would love for Coach Elko to blitz more. This is one of the things that makes Elko special. Yes, you would love to hit home on your blitzes, but part of blitzing is to hit the QB and make him uncomfortable, but also force the QB to react to non-generic coverages. This will also set up and allow you to mug LBs and safeties and drop them out in coverage on certain downs, just to add another element in the QBs mind that he may need to get the ball out quick. 3. I would love to see more physicality from the DBs in the pass game. Don’t be afraid to get your hands on guys. Force the QB to make perfect throws against tight man coverage. If you set the tone with the physicality early in the game, it makes it much harder for the refs to call flags later in the game because of the physicality that has already been established. 4. I would love to see Aaron Gregory get more targets. Simple.

Replying to @FreightAlley
Can't say I didn't warn y'all. There's several around the country where drivers are being named as statutory employees of brokers and shippers. Those and other wonders. There's so much going on in the world of broker shipper liability...and broker shipper defense.

This is just a long-winded way of accusing people of racism with zero evidence
Another way the current administration is trapped in the ZERO-SUM FALLACY: The H-1B visa situation. + You are NOT taking a job from a citizen, rather creating jobs by increasing overal economic output. Plus these people (even vegetarians) SPEND locally. + The US has long been benefiting from other countries' brain drain; without it its edge wd collapse. Tesla, Von Braun, von Neumann, Fermi & Einstein did NOT each take the job of a citizen. + It the problem is anti-Indian racism, say it, don't play games.

It’s really annoying listening to all these mid-level intellects pontificate on things they know almost jitjkng about.
Tony Robbins: You cannot outrun AI. It’s going to happen. “We’re gonna have AGI in less than three years and superintelligence in five or six.” “That means one AI knows more than all human brains combined.” “The next generation will all be AI-native.” “AI may be a bubble, just like what happened with the internet.” “Some companies will be overvalued, but there are gonna be a few winners.”

Agree
These posts keep kicking out the deadline because it keeps not happening. Lawyers have 6 months, lawyers are done here in 2 years. Ok now you have a decade before someone can quote tweet you. I actually expect there will more attorney jobs 10 years from now than there are today.

This ….. Basically, chill out.
This was the first time I'd actually bothered to watch the Shane Gillis monologue with which certain people took such apparent umbrage. I kept waiting for some misogyny-fueled tirade, but dude made fun of himself more than anyone else. And it was hilarious. Leaned a little heavy on the gay jokes, but that's the comic edge these days, so I get it. All this e-hoopla over one throwaway descriptive line (and "whores" is an "insult" that's gone the way of "fascist" these days. Means little more than "hot chick who shows skin" tbh). In a set where he made fun of his own weight and ignorance of gym culture. Bro called himself a "gas station egg" who is balding into a Hitler haircut, for crying out loud 🤣 I'm a huge proponent of women dressing skimpy at the gym, and even I found that line funny. Some of y'all need to settle the fuck down and laugh, JFC.

A legal education is essentially a doctorate in applied moral philosophy ….and we desperately need philosophers right now….
Law school enrollment keeps climbing. Odd, if you believe law is one of the professions most exposed to (endangered by) AI. Most say it's the political climate. I wish it were students seeing what's coming with AI in legal and wanting to be at the front edge of it. But almost no law schools are pitching that. So find the individual professors who are. I'm one. If you want in on this, come talk to me.

Both math and physics are just methods of explanation.
Math is a language. That’s why LLMs are good at it. Physics is more than a language.
