Russell Westbrook is one of the few players you simply can’t duplicate. You can’t make a comp. And I’m willing to say we may never see another player quite like him.
We’ve never really watched a young guard and said, “He plays like Westbrook.” That’s how rare his game was.
Uber explosive.
North-south speed.
East-west quickness.
Uniquely unorthodox.
Extreme competitiveness.
There have been players more polished. Players more skilled in certain areas. Players with better shooting ability, better size, or a more traditional game.
But nobody has ever replicated the force of nature that was Russell Westbrook.
Easily one of the greatest individual players of all time. First ballot.
We’ve had great guards. We’ve had explosive guards. We’ve had athletic guards.
But we’ve never had another Russell Westbrook. And I don’t think we ever will.

My 16u group finished their summer season this past weekend. Ended with a 21-12 record overall and 7-2 to end the second half of summer.
Coachable, hard working, talented are all words to describe these athletes. Keep them on your radar and check out their school ball seasons!! @TeamOKBB @PRO16League

The 10 Inconvenient Truths of Coaching
1. Not every kid wants to be great.
2. You will be misunderstood, often.
3. Some parents care more about playing time than team success.
4. Your best players aren’t always your best leaders.
5. No system works without buy-in.
6. Success brings criticism, too.
7. Culture isn’t built in a week, it’s built daily.
8. You can’t coach every player the same way.
9. Wins don’t always reflect your impact.
10. The job will take more from you than it gives, until years later.
Still worth every second.
Still a greatest profession.
