Scientists mass-produced sugar alcohols to replace sugar. While useful, they can cause osmotic diarrhea because they are non-absorbable solutes, leading to phenomena like the sugarless gummy bear challenge. I don't know why humanity does this to itself.

I've had the pleasure of trying a new zero spike sweetener called Brazza. It's protein derived from tropical fruit and it's twice as sweet as Stevia and Allulose. There is no harsh aftertaste and the appeal to me is that it supposedly does not have harsh effects on the gut. Most artificials will run right through me if I have more than a small amount. I like that 9 drops in my 12 oz coffee can control/remove bitterness without it tasting sweet, which suits me just fine. You may be alarmed by the "flavors" in the ingredients lists and rightly so. In many cases, it's a maker's way of hiding undesirable ingredients but in this case, @brazzabio assures me it's to safely make his product more agreeable for the consumer without getting ripped off by other producers. This little 1 oz bottle contains about 600 drops which doesn't sound that costly for $19. Certainly a good investment for trying to ween someone off of sugar. I'll list the website below.

What happens when you secretly put 24 incarcerated juveniles on a low sugar diet and compare their behavior to 34 peers on a higher sugar diet? You get 45-55% less rule violations. Sugar absolutely affects behavior.

Finding good sugar-free sweeteners is a holy grail for food scientists. The founder of @BrazzaBio sent me a sample of their new protein-based sweetener. First impression: extremely impressed.

Aging = Atrocity: Just 15,000 days. Look at what aging does to even the most brilliant (James Watson - scientific legend). If a virus did this, #1 priority would be to find a vaccine. This virus is aging, and it’s the only condition that we are not trying to cure...

Sugar is to food what heroine is to narcotics. Sugar is addictive, destructive and fatal. Sugar is the only psychotropic substance legalized globally for dietary and recreational consumption. Avoid sugar.

Sugar will be disrupted by #SweetProteins, which have the nutritional profile of proteins, taste sweet and have zero glycemic index. Plus they’re 1,000x sweeter by weight. That means that a single pound of sweet protein can disrupt 1,000 pounds of sugar.
