#horror #moviereview 1992's DUST DEVIL--Literally like no other movie I've seen. I loved it.

Reading
This is not the best Colby. It starts off fairly strong, then meanders and is padded out with POV chapters for secondary characters that add little. As Colby was primarily a short story writer, I strongly suspect this was a story hos agent asked him to expand.

Classic crime fiction
#4 in Sterling's Ben Pedley, mystery-solving fire marshal series. They're good mysteries, but I never get over the bizarre way Pedley talks. It takes a bit away from the suspension of disbelief.
#slasher #moviereview 2014's BILLY CLUB--Low budget, but not low skill.

It is DENSE as all get-out, even more so than DARK DRUMS. It's as if, when not writing about JDs, Brown felt he had to prove he was a Serious Writer.

Kudos to the entire creative team, but a special mention to @AllanGoldman3. Top work, dude. #safeguard

Classic crime fiction.
An interesting take on the Holmes mythos in which Professor Moriarty is a "consulting criminal"--mirroring Holmes being a consulting detective--to other criminals wanting to up their game.
#horror #moviereview 2016's SILENT RETREAT--Not actually bad, not really good, not what I hoped for.

An IMDB user list called this a slasher. IMDB has it tagged horror and mystery. Guess we'll see.
