She Reversed Her Cognitive Decline and Her Son's PANDAS (Mold Toxicity) | Dr. Candice Hall
Today, I am very honored to introduce Dr. Candice Hall. Dr. Hall, DC is an author, speaker, Certified Functional Medicine Clinician, and founder of Pathway for Health, LLC. She led one of the largest functional medicine clinics in the United States and is now expanding her reach helping people across the country find their way back to health. Dr. Hall is the author of The True Diabetes Solution and The True Thyroid Solution and educates hundreds of people that are suffering from chronic disease through webinars and seminars. Her unique approach to functional health focuses on educating clients about the root causes of chronic conditions and empowering them to take control of their health journey.
Dr. Hall has struggled through her own health crises, ultimately finding a pathway toward health outside of the traditional system that was failing her. After being treated with multiple pharmaceuticals her health continued to decline; she knew there must be a better way. Determined not to give up or accept what the doctors were saying, Dr. Hall committed to digging deeper into the multiple ways the body loses function, how to regain function, and ultimately how to become her own advocate in a broken healthcare system.
Dr. Hall firmly believes that the body was born to heal. “After battling and overcoming 3 autoimmune diseases and finding my way back to health, I am extremely passionate about getting this information out to others. I witnessed first-hand how the current and common healthcare approaches do not address the root causes of illness and rely on medications that only mask symptoms and make the problem worse over time. People deserve to have hope and to understand the miraculous healing power the body innately provides.” Through this educational journey, Dr. Hall was able to recover from her illnesses and has helped hundreds of clients become their own advocates, navigate themselves back to health, and create a life full of energy and vitality. Dr. Hall is also a strong advocate for the Bredesen Protocol and better ways of understanding and treating Alzheimer's and I am very grateful for her to be with us today.
Hope this is helpful for you and your family!

Brain energy patterns are beautiful.
We invest about 20% of our daily energy budget sustaining that sort of activity. Important stuff!
Technologies are constantly being developed to capture these energy patterns and understand what they mean.

83% of Boomers+ say they'd prefer in-home care if they needed long-term support (Northwestern Mutual / Harris Poll).
I believe it.
So the real question isn't "which facility." It's "what would it take to keep Mom home longer?"
Maybe in addition to legal and financial discussions with your parents, you slip in a little low-carb, cut-back-the-sugar and exercise talk as well?

Low-carb and ketogenic diets aren't just bacon and butter.
Our medical director and cardiologist @bschermd and CMH advisor and endocrinologist Dr. Caroline Roberts explain what these approaches actually look like—and how they can range from plant-based to carnivore models.

Shoutout to @ProfDeannaK and her team at @UMmedschool. 👏
Great to see their work featured in @baltimoresun. Their pilot explored whether education and firsthand experience could help clinicians feel more prepared to talk with patients about ketogenic therapy.
Studies have shown that converting the body’s metabolism from burning sugars and starches to proteins and fats can relieve certain neurological and mental illnesses that have not responded well to standard therapies, but most doctors have limited experience with using diets for therapy or partnering with nutritionists.
Researchers from the University of Maryland School of Medicine found that training doctors to use the ketogenic diet personally better prepared them to add it to their treatment options for patients with difficult-to-treat illnesses.

Exercise massively increases energy flux through the whole organism and elicits adaptations that, overall, decrease energy resistance.
First principles say that when biology operates at lower energy resistance, energy can transform more efficiently, leaving less age-related damage behind.

About 70% of Americans over 65 will need some kind of long-term care, according to HHS.
Assisted living has a national median above $74,000 a year. In-home caregiving can run over $80,000. Nursing home rooms often top $100,000, per Fidelity.
Medicare generally doesn't cover it, apart from a short stay after a hospitalization.
I see families find this out in the worst possible moment.
If you're in your 50s, 60s or 70s, this is the cheapest time to plan: long-term care insurance, a Health Savings Account, VA benefits if you or your spouse served, and a family conversation.
Or better yet. Eat healthy. Exercise. And get in shape for the most challenging part of your life.
What's your plan? Or don't you have one yet?

Cognitive decline doesn't suddenly start at age 60; subtle changes can happen decades before a diagnosis is made. A comprehensive cognoscopy—like that provided by ReCODE and PreCODE—is vital in your 30s and 40s, long before memory symptoms surface.
