Consultation will launch soon on the road closures we've all come to know and live. Unfortunately the national emergency legislation ended that allowed these roads to close. The aim is to see roads reopened back up in the Summer, subject to what people say in the consultation!

There are plans to improve the bridleway section of Green Lane in Stockport. These include widening the surface to LTN standards (3m) and adding lighting for year round use

Mark’s area has recently become a low traffic neighbourhood so he’s started cycling with his kids to school and they absolutely love it! It wakes them up in the morning and it’s better for the environment. 🚲 For more inspo 👉 activetravel.tfgm.com/the-sc…

Every one of these bridges has the potential to play a useful transport role, but all are threatened with infilling or demolition by @HighwaysEngland. If you have two minutes this weekend, please sign our petition opposing this vandalism. change.org/theHREgroup Please RT.

This weekend, I got together with a bunch of other Twitter friends and had a brainstorm on how pedestrians can work together to end car culture. Together, we generated over 130 ideas.

Too little too late. Needed a #wakingwatch fund LAST year. For 12 months, I begged @RobertJenrick to help. He didn’t. Today, I sat in my empty flat one last time before I surrendered my keys. Tonight, I will sleep on my Dad’s sofa. I am bankrupt. I am homeless. I am broken.

No sign of any pop-up cycle lanes in Manchester... What are people supposed to do at the border. Get off an push for the last 2 miles into the city centre? "several routes in Salford" shows just how badly Manchester Council is letting down residents and workers in our area.

A word on the “culture war” surrounding active travel measures. It doesn’t exist. And furthermore, survey after survey tells us that the majority of people are supportive. More would cycle if there was safe space for cycling, and that’s good news, even if you’re in a car.

A lot of people reply "but what about the disabled" when we talk about improving cycling infrastructure. Well it turns out that making safe protected cycle lanes that are accessible, then wheel chair users can use them just as much as the rest of us. And in this case. Faster. 2/2

Why are @ManCityCouncil closing a cycle lane when they are supposed to be creating more space for cycling?
