All I’ll say is if this was AFCON and they let a man play after he got a red card, the nonsense being said would be crazy

Not enough clarity on this, despite acknowledging specialty training bottleneck crisis last year
No definitive solution for our workforce crisis
Poor track for trust that things will get done
No mention on pay incl the cut Streeting recommended for 26/27
It’s a no from me

So now we are going to have advanced physician assistants?
Who cannot see undifferentiated patients "except within clearly defined national clinical protocols." - whatever that means...

1/ Now the embargo has lifted, I’ve had time to read the @lengreview in full. While some celebrate minor cosmetic wins, I see the formal entrenchment of a parallel, underqualified medical workforce — built without medical training.
so Streeting wants to work with doctors on making things better, but won't pay us more and if we dare stand up to him he's gonna fire us? with these waiting lists? man's a clown
In Commons, @wesstreeting tells MPs he can't promise strike action won't lead to job cuts, including doctors.
"If this strike action goes ahead with all of the costs, pain & misery that follows, it won’t just be patients that suffer, or indeed this Govt. It will be the BMA too.”

You know, there’s nothing that says blindfolded chimps are 100% safe at flying F-35s, but there’s equally nothing that says they are 100% unsafe at flying F-35s.

I'm sorry your grandmothers passed away, but can you still cover your shift.
NHS managers are beyond parody at this point.

Here's something else interesting about the PA knowledge comparison study: If we plot performance by question, medical students & FY1s show nearly identical patterns (r=0.927), but PAs show virtually no correlation with either group (r=0.045, 0.008).

I never understood this NATO thing. Couldn't Russia just not invade countries and thus not have to worry about NATO?

Politics is about whose side you’re on.
Kemi Badenoch has just shown she is on the side of JD Vance rather than our brave armed forces and the families who’ve lost loved ones in conflicts over the past 40 years.
Kemi Badenoch weighs in on JD Vance "random country" comments.
"I know JD Vance quite well. I've looked at the comments, I don't think he actually said that. A lot of people are getting carried away. They're saying loads of things and getting quite animated let's keep cool heads.
America is our closest ally. I believe President Trump and JD Vance want peace, they're looking after their national interest, we need to do so as well."

NATO Article 5 has been invoked once - on 12/9/01 by 🇺🇸, after 9/11.
🇬🇧 &🇫🇷 came to their aid deploying 1,000s of personnel to Afghanistan, including my own brother & numerous parliamentary colleagues, past & present. It’s deeply disrespectful to ignore such service & sacrifice.

Dear @gmcuk, please can you explain your hardline attitude to the resident doctor victims of the MRCP scandal (forbidding them from proceeding with higher training applications), when you are quite happy to have PAs on SpR on-call rotas with no MRCP, nor even a medical degree?
🧵/ This heartbreaking case highlights why so many doctors like me have begged @NHSEngland & @DHSCgovuk to stop endangering NHS patients by substituting doctors with non-medically trained PAs
We've been dismissed & smeared as "toxic bullies".
Please read this thread & decide.

There's a rumour that Nigel Farage is keeping his head down because he's off to a Trump cheerleading conference over the weekend.
I’m afraid I’m being proved right- Farage is far more interested in Trump's success than British security. He is a bootlicker and a plastic patriot.

The time to review/establish evidence for a new workforce is before you roll them out, not years later. We have multiple surveys, reports and votes by the medical profession, not just anecdotes on social media. Will .@AoMRC support a pause on MAPs whilst we await this review? 🤔
