First of all, I want to sincerely thank the voters of the 93rd District (Jackson, Gallia, & Lawrence) for your overwhelming support (70%). The outpouring of support is humbling. In fact, Tuesday’s results were the largest margin of victory in a general election in my career. Thank you! Secondly, it unfortunately appears that many of my republican colleagues and candidates in republican held seats (possibly up to 12) will not be returning to Columbus in January. Yes, it was a difficult cycle, but these losses in individual districts are not good. It didn’t have to be this bad. So how is it, in my district, I overperformed our ticket significantly, while other members also in relatively “safe” districts lost? Here are my thoughts: As most of you know, I faced a primary in the spring of 2026 because I vocally opposed house leadership on unpopular issues that I knew were against the interest of my district and unpopular with the people of Ohio. So, the establishment targeted me with unprecedented spending and a very noisy primary. It was to no avail because I won that race by a nearly 2-1 margin. A lot people in my district were confused and some really mad about the primary. They often asked why did this happen, so I told them: 1 -The Ohio House refused to pass the third phase of the bipartisan Cupp-Patterson School Funding Plan which had been agreed to by both parties in past years. 2-The Ohio House didn’t reign in the property tax abatements for Data Centers, yet leadership insisted that the caucus vote to hand out $600 million of other people’s money for a sports stadium by shoving the provision into the states 2-year operating budget. 3-The Ohio House passed a marijuana bill that catered to big business interests and flew in the face of the voter passed legislation legalizing marijuana in 2023. The reasons for both my overperformance but yet the republican underperformance in so many districts across Ohio boil down to those three major very unpopular positions (and few smaller ones) that leadership insisted members vote for. I opposed leadership on these very unpopular positions, and I paid the price by being primaried; however, those members who (begrudgingly) went along with these policies didn’t get a primary, but they sure heard the voters’ displeasure loud and clear this past Tuesday. Finally, the question for the republicans are left in the Ohio House now is “are we going to keep doing what we have been doing, or are we going to actually listen to the people of Ohio and govern in their interest?” Again, I want to thank the voters of the 93rd District for your steadfast support. I do my best to listen to you and stand up for you. I look forward to continuing to represent you in the next General Assembly.

64 days till this hemp ban. It’s looking like we’ll lose 50–75% of total revenue @drinkbrez 🫣 It could get extended till April, or positively regulated, in which case we’ll have one of the most valuable companies of the moment, with every alc company trying to buy it in a frenzy. We won’t know till the last minute though, so we literally have to prepare for multiple scenarios without anyone willing to invest capital due to the uncertainty. To say this last year has been the most challenging of my life is a massive understatement. We scaled @drinkbrez to $47mm/yr, then had all investors and creditors pull out overnight with the ban news. Was left owing $7mm in AP/debt (unprofitable retail deals). Been working out of it for the last year and now down to $2.5mm owed. Never have I ever not paid our bills, although it became the only option. Multiple lawsuits, pissed off vendors and friends, and a lot of sadness. Also was going through a divorce and abusing substances to cope. All that being said, now we are literally doing whatever it takes to succeed regardless. @Walmart brought us from 100 → 1,000 stores, @Costco roadshow starts in a week, and now scaling non-THC DTC revenue via @TrybeUGC, @Meta, SMS, email, Amazon, and customer service. Literally all of our energy will be exclusively here. Realized when shit hit the fan, I hid from the public realm, which is silly, because the whole reason I was building in public was to showcase the behind the scenes, to help others and to recruit support for ourselves. I simply became ashamed, tbh, but not letting that persist anymore. This is what entrepreneurship looks like. It’s real, raw, messy, exhilarating, painful, and worth it. This season has been a deep and daily reminder that business is simply a game of resilience and determination. Thank you all who’ve followed and supported our journey, esp those who reached out to me in the dark times. Deciding to go back to building this in public and share the full picture rather than just the beautiful rev #s. More soon ❤️‍🔥

I’m fighting to overturn the hemp ban and stand up for our great Kentucky farmers. Our Hemp Bill keeps hemp products out of the hands of kids by establishing a nationwide 21+ age requirement, puts consumer safety first with clear, commonsense federal standards, and gives America’s domestic hemp industry the certainty it needs to grow and thrive. thehill.com/homenews/house/5…

BREAKING: Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine is signing SB56, changes to marijuana and hemp — but is line item vetoing a provision that allows for THC-infused drinks. Meaning, the state will BAN all “intoxicating” hemp products, including the beverages. @WEWS @WCPO @OhioCapJournal

The Ohio senate not negotiating in good faith
Going to be a long night… The House is blocking the marijuana/hemp deal, according to Rep. Jamie Callender. The Senate’s last minute additions to weed policy are “unconstitutional,” he says, and the bill seems to “recriminalize” THC. @WEWS @WCPO @OhioCapJournal

The government is open, but a hemp industry shutdown has just begun. In true Washington swamp fashion, this hemp ban is not being debated on its own. Once again, Congress created a crisis, then conveniently used the crisis to jam through new laws without debate. courier-journal.com/story/op…

This is hogwash. Completely misleading the American people and it’s irresponsible. Lawmakers — including folks on the House side — are trying to shoehorn a massive change to federal hemp law into a government funding bill that has nothing to do with reopening the government. It is a shady maneuver that makes funding contingent on wiping out an entire industry. I am not asking for anything other than removing this provision and debating it on its own, in daylight, with transparency. Also, it’s the Speaker who has delayed reopening by not voting until Wednesday!

Replying to @ElectionWiz
There is extraneous language in this package that has nothing to do with reopening the government and would harm Kentucky’s hemp farmers and small businesses. Standing up for Kentucky jobs is part of my job. I just filed an amendment to strike the provision.

.@SenMcConnell with nothing to lose in his final lap, quietly slips a hemp ban back into the funding bill. Legacy move: torch a $28B industry, ax 300K+ jobs, fuel black markets, and tell veterans, farmers, & responsible adults to pound sand. Bold way to say “Big Pharma only.” We ask every other legislator: stand with Americans, not prohibitionists cashing checks from rival industries. @AppropsGOP @SenateApprops @SenThomTillis @ChrisCoons @LisaBRochester @SenAngusKing @SenCortezMasto @SenSchumer @RonWyden @SenJeffMerkley @JohnFetterman @SenatorBaldwin @RepMoolenaar #SaveAmericanHemp #hemphelps

When we grow in multiple areas of life, everything starts to feel richer. More grounded. More energized. More ours. Not because we “got” more, but because we became more. And when we become more, we have more to give.
