Thank you to @SecDuffy for bringing common sense back to America’s fuel economy standards.
Fuel efficiency naturally improves as technology advances. The Biden Administration’s fuel economy targets ignored market realities, raised costs, and created uncertainty for American manufacturers and consumers.

Big day for the Millers Creek Fire Rescue in Estill County. Proud to announce a $160,180 federal grant to replace all the SCBA breathing packs our firefighters use on calls.
We have to protect our first responders so that they can protect us! barr.house.gov/press-release…
Great to be with @DC_Reporter @MatthewFoldi this week to talk bourbon and financial services with @EPC_Updates Executive Chairman Richard Hunt. Appreciate @DistilledSpirit hosting us for a special night.
This week’s summit between President Trump and General Secretary Xi represents an important opportunity to hold the Chinese Communist Party accountable for providing Iran with satellite data it used to target the American military in the Middle East, buying Iranian oil and selling semiconductors used in Iranian weapons. It also represents an opportunity to reinforce deterrence in the Western Pacific by standing by the $11.1 billion in arms sales to Taiwan announced by the Trump Administration in 2025 and not backing off the additional $14 billion in arms sales to Taiwan presently under consideration.
Thank you to @LexKYFire Chief Jason Wells for his career of service to our city. I know the brave men and women of the Lexington Fire Department will carry on Chief Wells’ commitment to protecting and serving our community. kentucky.com/news/local/coun…
Big Blue Nation with a Big Day! Congratulations to @CoachWillStein and the @UKFootball wildcats.
Today, I welcomed the @FinancialCmte Subcommittee on Financial Institutions to the Bluegrass for a field hearing on the Main Street Capital Access Act.
This bill would expand access to capital that fuels the American dream for families, farmers, and small businesses. Thank you to @eku for hosting and @RepTroyDowning and @Rep_Davidson for attending.

"The Main Street Capital Access Act opens the door for new bank formation—improving transparency in the chartering process, making applications more predictable, and ensuring rural and underserved communities can once again see new institutions form instead of watching their local banks disappear."

WATCH: @RepAndyBarr on the importance of the Main Street Capital Access Act:
"The Main Street Capital Access Act was developed in response to that one-size-fits-all approach, with the intention to help community banks thrive, expand, and support the growth of new banks. Key provisions in Title Two, like the TAILOR Act and my TIER Act, Community Bank Regulatory Tailoring Act, aimed to reduce regulatory burdens on lower-risk and smaller financial institutions by raising asset thresholds and requiring regulatory thresholds to adjust over time for economic growth or inflation."

WATCH: @RepAndyBarr questions Mr. Hawkins on how important community banks are to unlocking affordable housing, to which he answered:
"It's critical that we find local community banks who understand the market and want to participate in that market, as opposed to some large metro market. What we've seen recently is we've been able to secure these housing credits and have had a hard time at a national level marketing those large institutions. And in every case, when we go to community banks, they're excited about finding ways to serve their communities. They want to see this housing built."

Today in Kentucky, I joined @RepAndyBarr and the Financial Institutions Subcommittee for a field hearing on the Main Street Capital Access Act.
Community banks are essential to rural America, especially in Montana, where they support family farms across our state. We talked about cutting unnecessary red tape and reversing consolidation. We also discussed how to expand access to capital for small businesses and local communities.
The House passed the bill in July with bipartisan support.
Watch: @RepTroyDowning on how Dodd-Frank has hurt community banks:
"Community banks face many challenges that prevent new bank formation or lead to consolidation. So, in 2008, in Montana, there were 64 state-chartered banks. And today, there are 33. So, we lost almost half. And a lot of this can be traced directly back to the passage of Dodd-Frank."

Iran’s terrorist activities and Putin’s war machine depend on access to money and energy revenues.
I helped lead the Lindsey O. Graham Sanctions Act through the House to tighten the screws on those financial networks and give President Trump additional leverage to confront America’s adversaries.
Peace through strength.

🚨BIG NEWS for our racetracks and bettors
@WaysandMeansGOP under the great leadership of @RepJasonSmith advanced a version of my WAGER Act to ensure bettors are taxed on what they actually make, NOT winnings entirely wiped out by losses.
This fix protects bettors, our tracks, and their purses. I’ll keep fighting to get it done.
