Blink v17.3.0 is OUT!
Don't fool yourself with the new features, this update is bigger on the inside than it is on the outside.
What's New:
🚀 Custom Mosh+17.3.0: Now including undercurl, strikethrough, and other server-side improvements. Update the static Mosh on remote servers with the `--install-static` flag.
✏️Vim for Local Editing: Use Vim for quick local edits. Read more in our docs (docs.blink.sh/advanced/vim). Special thanks here to the previous work of @nholzschuch on iOS System!
⌨️ New Interactive Commands: We've also added `less`, `bc`, and `ping6` commands.
🗝️ Default Agent Configuration: `ssh-add` now remembers your configuration between sessions, and you can configure keys and modes within Settings (go to Config > Default Agent).
🔗 Mosh with ProxyJump: Catching up with our previous mosh client, you can now connect with ProxyJump.
📱New iPad Pro and Air Support:** Blink now fully tailors the layouts for the latest iPad Pro and iPad Air models. on iOS System
🎛️ Shell Improvements: Numerous fixes have been made to improve command execution and overall system integration, like telnet, random segmentation faults after running consecutive commands, Ctrl-D handling, commands that may hang the shell, etc...
🎛️ Improved Arrow Key Functionality: Arrows now work in both terminal and application modes, improving compatibility and user experience.
🔧Crash Fixes and Stability Improvements: We left this release in the oven for a while to squash even the weirdest bugs and misbehaviors.

If you’re a developer and you haven’t yet tried @BlinkShell on your iPad, you need to get on it. It’s not going to replace a MacBook but you can get real dev work done on iPadOS. Not to mention the occasional remote in to fix servers from your phone. Has saved me many times.

this is great for emergencies without a laptop nearby

The new "Bora Bora" environment on Apple Vision Pro is probably my new favourite. The level of detail is stunning, with the palm trees subtly moving in the wind (with matching shadows on the beach). My @BlinkShell terminal never looked so sunny, ha!

Let there be only light where there is data: iPad Pro with OLED and @BlinkShell are a match made in heaven!
Just look at the bright green cursor in my vim (photo taken from the iPad's screen). My code never looked this pretty.

For those reaching out to me asking what kind of IDE or code editor I use in VisionOS, it's @BlinkShell connecting to a Debian GNU/Linux machine running vim in tmux. It works like a charm and supports multiple windows, scalable terminal fonts and thanks to mosh/tmux it is state persistent. – at Amsterdam, The Netherlands

Doin' the "helmet thing" at work again.
You're seeing: (thru) Apple Vision Pro, coffee, bike, desk+chair+keyboard, virtual windows (some on the balcony), a website prototype (that I can touch and rotate), some HTML code in VIM/Blink/tmux augmented with some Tiësto's Club life on top. – at Amsterdam, The Netherlands

Exciting news in Blink 17.3.0! Now featuring #vim integration. Our community has been busy helping us refine things this week.
Remembering how to quit it? That's the real challenge! 😄
This was all possible thanks to @nholzschuch work on Vim for iOS. We updated to latest version, made some tweaks, but all the heavy lifting and head banging was done by him previously on @a_Shell_iOS.
So big kudos to him!
We love cool setups, and cannot beat this one by @TechySquirrel!
"Using an iPad with a typewriter for a cozy lap workspace. Creative use of the Qwerkywriter, Zugu case & some DIY velcro magic makes for snug sessions while working on Blink + Build projects." .✨
Are you planning to be at @DevOpsDaysRDU in Raleigh this April 10 to 11th? We’ll be there! 🤩
Send us a message if you want to connect. We’ll also have some cool new swag to give out. See you there!

I’m using Blink, which has a really slick iPad app. Been chatting with the devs, may help with the Vision Pro native app, but honestly it’s working great so far. Helps that I already spent most of my life in emacs + browser.
Just rolled out Version 17.2.1! Squashed two pesky bugs from our latest release:
1️⃣ Clipboard stays intact when Mosh reloads.
2️⃣ New Keys UI now links to the right Read More and actions.
The fixes are in!
🚀Blink v17.2.0 is live! 📣
Upgrade any SSH connection with Auto-Install Mosh, new mosh client with IPv4/IPv6 support, enhanced SSH, PragmataPro with nerd symbols, new auto-lock and a lot more under the hood!
