Folk legends are sometimes based on fact. This discovery of a previously unknown Roman fort may have confirmed an old Welsh tale. Roman fort found in Wales could prove myth of emperor’s camp is real theguardian.com/uk-news/2026…

This is an interesting take on the AI controversy. Are the predictions of doom all just hype? I’m an AI investor: here’s why I just deleted Claude cityam.com/im-an-ai-investor…

The Meta AI app now lets you toggle Microphone Troubleshooting for Adventurer glasses so people can actually make out what you are saying on phone calls. Why is it not on by default? Must admit I’ve seen slightly poorer battery life after enabling it, so maybe that’s why.

The AI voice on my Meta glasses suddenly switched to US English. I factory reset the glasses, logged outt of the app, uninstalled, reinstalled & began from scratch. UK English voice selected. It worked once, then the US voice came back and can’t be changed. Sigh #Technology

In the furore over FIFA’s plans to sell stakes in their competitions to private investors, has anyone asked what the investors are due to get out of the deal? I doubt they are pure philanthropists, which means they intend to take money from the game despite what Infantino says.

Worried about Chat GPT’s rogue AI? Maybe there’s no need to panic. The news follows a marketing trend they’ve used before. Be skeptical of OpenAI’s rogue hacker agent story | John Thickstun theguardian.com/technology/2…

@TEnglishhSport Football question. Don’t the laws require that a kick off must be taken after a goal is scored, no matter how little time remains? Did that happen on Saturday? If not, doesn’t that imply that the match was abandoned rather than finished? See recent Prague derby.

OK, I’m wrong. It seems that’s usual practice but not strictly required. Still, Slavia vs Sparta Prague game showed a very different interpretation & enforcement of the laws of the game.

I must admit that I’m quite excited about the new accessibility features being promised by Apple, especially the Voiceover and on-device surroundings scanning features. I hope they live up to the hype. #A11y #Accessibility

As a blind person, I love using the Oorion app with my Meta glasses. Hearing info on what is around you is amazing. It’s not perfect, but the mark of how good it is that I really miss the feedback when the app glitches as it does from time to time.

I heard some commentators say that Harry Kane is the first English player to score 50 goals in a single season. I don’t think that’s right. I’m pretty sure Dixie Dean scored 60 league goals for Everton in the 1920s.
