I’ll be standing up for the blind smart glasses users tomorrow on the mainstream media! I’ll be on the BBC throughout the day talking about my experience of using the glasses and why we need to dial down the rhetoric towards people who wear them.
Canada’s having another holiday - so we are too! We are back on Tuesday!! Don’t forget Double Tap Live is available 24/7!
I’m just gonna stay in the house. As long as Netflix is still working I’ll be fine.
Russia's deadly plague outbreak just got even more catastrophic.
A second person has now died from the plague in Russia's Irkutsk region.
Russia's independent outlet The Insider and Channel 5 have confirmed the second death.
Now Russian journalists are accusing the government of covering up the second death.
Channel 5 removed the broadcast.
REN TV has also deleted all five of its publications.
But the damage has already been done.
Panic has broken out across Russia and several other countries.
This is the same black death bacterium that killed millions of people in Europe during the Middle Ages.
And now there are two deaths.
Mongolia, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan have tightened border health controls.
America has urged all US citizens to leave Russia immediately.
Level 4, Do Not Travel advisory for Russia has also been issued.
Because the US government has limited ability to assist Americans outside Moscow.
The CDC has warned that pneumonic plague can spread from person to person through close contact.
The WHO has urged Russia to provide more information under the International Health Regulations after the second death.
High threat pathogen experts in Geneva and Copenhagen are now being brought in.
This is leading somewhere disastrous.
As it’s a federal holiday Canada tomorrow we would normally be off air, however we will indeed be back tomorrow as usual so come join the fun ahead of our Double Tap Live launch at 1pm Eastern.
Sad to see what’s happening at the BBC. Good people will lose their jobs and that must remain top of mind. However I do wonder if they need so many channels. Surely in today’s world, a single BBC channel would be better with the high quality content all there. Plus ditch all the imports from other countries that we can get from other commercial content providers. There’s a lot they could cut spending on before staff I guess is my point.
The argument to buy new Meta products will be significantly hampered by the lack of Muse outside of the US. Won’t stop me playing though. Hee hee
I bought an Apple thing. And I liked it! Check out my thoughts on the new AirPods 5 on Double Tap today and why I may not need my AirPods Pro 3 anymore
So the latest Siri disaster comes with the latest beta build of iOS 27. It now at least clears the screen once the task is complete - opening an app now just reports as done. Although it’s not told you what it’s opened so that could be fun! However trying to call someone or send a message just leaves you wondering what it going on - it doesn’t speak at all and if you explore around it has a send message or do you want to call question? Yes yes I do. That’s why I asked if you want to call. I wouldn’t mind the option if I knew it had appeared. Honestly it’s just an appalling mess.

Our general advice is never to install the new Apple updates for at least a month to allow bugs to be resolved, especially if you only have one device. But don’t take our word for it - check out this extensive list of issues raised over at AppleVis. applevis.com/blog/ios-27-ipa…
As it’s a holiday in Canada on Monday there will be no new Double Tap episode on that day. However, we are here over the weekend with our weekend and mainstream specials as usual, but don’t worry we are back with plenty to say on Tuesday. Happy long weekend everyone!
So proud to be part of such a stellar lineup of shows on AMI-audio. God bless you Mr F! ami.ca/AMI-audio-2026?refere… @AMIaudio
Apologies for quite literally radio silence from us today on Double Tap. A technical fault meant we couldn't broadcast the episode today but good news - it will air tomorrow instead!
Oh this is tragic. I enjoyed her character in Nashville and often wondered how much of it was close to her own life experience.

Sad to read this. It was my first paid job in radio and it was a lot of fun with some amazing people. thenational.scot/news/263001…
