ALT Mark Blenner, 39-year-old associate professor of chemical and biomolecular engineering at UD, received the prestigious Young Investigator Award from the American Chemical Society, an honor reserved for researchers under 40. Among his projects: Converting the plastic waste of soldiers in austere environments into a nutrient-rich food source, and turning astronaut urine into useful products needed for space travel.
