Community composting is being restored—all because you stood up for it. Read my statement with @SaveNYCCompost here:
ALT New Yorkers spoke—and the City Council listened. With everything at stake, our city’s vibrant composting community stopped at nothing to fight back against the proposed mayoral budget cuts. They showed up in droves at rallies and press conferences. They testified at every committee hearing. They called their district offices. They signed petitions, wrote letters, and approached their council members in the street to demand restorations. It all mattered. Today, we are incredibly proud to announce that the Council will be restoring $6.245 million to community composting program and creating a new, more sustainable path forward for our community composting coalition.
Show love for Hudson River. Join us and @riverkeeper
for a waterfront cleanup in Red Hook as part of the annual #RiverkeeperSweep!

The future of our city’s sustainability is at stake. Mayor Adams’ proposed funding cuts for community composting pose a serious threat to the crucial work carried out by community compost organizations. This jeopardizes over 100 jobs and the critical work our community compost organizations do for a greener future.
Join us on Wednesday, December 6 at 12 PM, for a press conference and rally at City Hall Park. This is not just a gathering; it’s a rallying cry to preserve the foundations of our environmental initiatives.
Your support is crucial! We need YOUR presence to make a powerful stand, demand support, and protect our environment.
