Trump says he spoke with PM Modi and secured an immediate U.S.–India trade deal, cutting U.S. reciprocal tariffs from 25% to 18% and reducing India’s tariffs and non-tariff barriers to zero.
He claims Modi agreed to stop buying Russian oil and instead purchase far more energy and goods from the U.S., potentially also Venezuela, to help end the war in Ukraine.
Trump says India committed to “BUY AMERICAN” at a higher level, involving over $500 billion in U.S. energy, technology, agriculture, and other products.
