Here's the thing about throwing a staunchly hardcore Bitcoin-only event: If you want to hang out with a few dozen maxis, you're going to have a great time, but adoption is going nowhere.
If you want this movement to progress, you need to stop the purity tests and build bridges.

X has sued a network of Bitcoin accounts, alleging they manipulated engagement to fraudulently extract more than $32 from its creator revenue-sharing program.

People that copy/paste written posts as their own instead of reposting the original are the least integrity people out there.
Basically the shopping cart theory for social media.
It's the Regressive Bitcoiners' time to shine.
All joking aside, I'm sad to see this organization winding down. Bitcoin shouldn't be a partisan issue and this group was attempting to educate a different set of people. They should be applauded for their efforts.

Signal is testing a major privacy feature:
You can create a Signal account without a phone number.
The new numberless registration uses an Account ID and Account Key, with an optional username.
There’s a small catch: it requires a one time fee of around $3 to help prevent spam.
The payment isn’t directly linked to your Signal account. Signal says it uses the same zero knowledge proofs as its donation system to ensure there’s no link between the payment and the account.
For now, the only payment method is Google Play, which requires Google Play Services. Signal says it plans to add other payment methods in the future.
A pretty significant step for privacy, even if the current implementation still has a Google dependency.

Simpler times
A malicious user has likely gained access to Swiss Bitcoin Pay’s internal systems. As a precaution, we are temporarily shutting down our servers while we investigate and secure our infrastructure.
At this stage, we believe they may have accessed customer email addresses, Bitcoin addresses and IBANs, transaction history, and hashed passwords. It is not yet clear whether any other information was accessed.
User funds are safe, and any amounts owed to users will be fully returned.
We do not have a reopening date yet, but we are working as quickly as possible to secure everything properly.
We’ll be back stronger!
The people building this have put a tremendous amount of blood, sweat, and tears into making this the first-of-its-kind show for Bitcoin and even the larger world of crypto.

The ideology and logic of Bitcoin maximalism is generally sound but the maximalists themselves are annoying and insufferable.
The average normie is better off just focusing their attention on Bitcoin. Not all altcoins are scams but enough are that it’s not worth exploring.
