Let's all agree to reserve a future opcode for verifying SPHINCS signatures in the annex.
Folks worried about ECDSA getting rekt can lock their funds normally, with the extra opcode added as "insurance".
If ECDSA breaks, we can panic for a moment, then activate the opcode.
You send a Bitcoin transaction and your wallet says “pending.” So where is it while you wait?
Most likely, it’s sitting in a mempool.
This week in The Bitcoin Field Guide, we’re breaking down what the mempool actually is. ↓

Always improve your fighting position.
This is a core tactical principal all members of the military and veteran community are explicitly familiar with.
Recent security exploits in the Bitcoin ecosystem illustrate the need for constant vigilance.
If you're not getting stronger, you're getting weaker.
Act accordingly.
The Sovereign Assembly may be over, but Bitcoin Party KC isn’t.
If you came out, enjoyed the conversations, met some good people, and want to be part of more of what we’re building in Kansas City, we’d love to have you as a member.

Wallet → network → mempool → block.
We break down the whole journey in Field Guide 002 ↓

Thank you so much @BornTo_BeFree for our latest shipment. That new cinnamon spice lip butter is delicious! We are huge fans of the soap always. And we’re excited to try the breathe free balm. Our baby loves the baby bum stuff we got before. We still have a bit. Thank you again!🚀
You’ve probably heard someone say you should “run a node.” But what does a Bitcoin node actually do?
Miners propose blocks. Nodes verify them.

Super excited for @tabconf this year. Aways a great opportunity to meet like minded people and learn new stuff. And the chess tournament is going to be spectacular.
Seriously means a lot to everyone involved in TABConf this year!
The grant program for @tabconf is officially closed. Great applicants this year!
We've approved 22 grantees. Anyone else who needs funding will need to seek assistance elsewhere. h/t to @HRF being a no strings attached sponsor. We have used their sponsorship to lead our grant program this year to help folks in need come out!
We're still in the position to provide free tickets to those who genuinely can't afford one and are either students or working on a bitcoin/bitcoin-adjacent project, but that's all were able to offer at this point.
Really pumped about TABConf this year!
Still on the todo list:
- CTB puzzle
- Solidifying Schedule on github, day of activities
- Tons of admin work
- Procure wristbands, collectable poker chips, posters
- Finalize Swag apparel
- Sponsor Signage
- After party location announcement - hoping to get a sponsor soon for this.
30 Days and counting!
See y'all Oct 12-15!
If you made it this far and you're registered for TABConf you're probably getting email that are being filtered under promo/advertisements. Search for them.
If you haven't registered yet, please do.

Yesterday’s Sovereign Assembly was one for the books!
Thanks to everyone who joined us to meet our speakers and vendors, have some great conversations, & spend the afternoon exploring what sovereignty looks like in practice.
We’re grateful for this community. Until next time!
Wow Thank you!, @NoWasteBTCsigns absolutely OUTDID THEMSELVES for Sovereign Assembly. 🤯₿
Look at this spread!
They turn scrap material that would otherwise be wasted into handmade Bitcoin art.
HUGE thank you for showing KC so much love. You ROCK. 🧡⚡️
