Riyadh airport strikes: Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthi forces claimed responsibility for multiple strikes on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh. A Saturday strike killed at least 12–13 people (including a U.S. citizen, Saudis, Bangladeshis, and others) and wounded more than 300; a Sunday projectile hit a passenger terminal, causing a fire, killing one and injuring about 11. Saudi authorities closed the airport, shifted Riyadh schools to remote learning, and vowed retaliation; President Trump stated the U.S. could join Saudi strikes against the Houthis. (AP) 2. Claimed Russia-Ukraine energy ceasefire: U.S. President Trump stated Sunday that Russia and Ukraine had agreed to an “energy ceasefire” halting attacks on energy facilities (later clarified by a White House official as potentially covering oil refineries). Ukrainian President Zelenskyy said the claim was news to him and that Russian strikes on energy sites, including a power plant in Kharkiv, continued afterward; Zelenskyy said Ukraine would honor any such deal if Russia did.
