Exactly. The US already has amazing players who remain undiscovered and underdeveloped primarily due to a lack of a club system based on promotion and relegation. Also, culturally in the US, football IQ is extremely low. Players are chosen according to athleticism rather than their intelligence. A player with a high football IQ remains generally unrecognized unless their Dad just so happens to work for Borussia Dortmund. If Messi was born in the US nobody would have ever heard of him.
