for me, its always 3 steps:
1. learn only the fun stuff that exites you first, its okay to skip some steps, focus on enjoying
2. after this, you will certainly find an issue, and to solve that issue, you will forced to learn the basics
3. congrats, you're learning

Founder rugs have been destroying communities since the beginning of this industry
🚨 We now have BIT-0011 Proposal
3 days ago, a $TAO subnet founder dumped 37,000 $TAO worth of Alpha on his own community and walked away
3 days later, the protocol already has a proposed solution on the table.
BIT-0011. Locked Stake and Conviction
Let me break down what this actually means because it is one of the most important proposals in Bittensor's history, and we need to pay attention to it.
Right now, a subnet owner registers once, pays the registration cost, and holds that subnet indefinitely. There is nothing on-chain requiring them to prove ongoing commitment.
They can sit on the subnet doing nothing. Or worse, they can build trust, attract stakers, collect emissions, and then dump everything overnight with zero warning.
That is exactly what happened with Covenant.
Locked Stake fixes this at the protocol level. With math.
Here is how it works.
You lock your Alpha on a subnet for a chosen duration.
That lock creates a conviction score. Conviction starts at 100% of the locked amount and decays linearly to zero as the lock approaches expiry.
The longer you lock and the more you lock, the higher your conviction.
Every 30 days, the protocol checks all conviction scores on every subnet.
The staker with the highest conviction, EMA smoothed over time to prevent anyone from briefly locking a massive amount to snipe ownership becomes the subnet owner.
Read that again 👀
Subnet ownership becomes a continuous contest of commitment.
It's not a one-time purchase.
It's an ongoing proof that you have skin in the game.
What this means in practice.
If a subnet owner wants to exit, their conviction starts decaying the moment they stop re-locking.
Investors can see it happening in advance. The market can reprice the Alpha before the owner dumps.
And any motivated team with higher conviction can challenge that ownership and take over the subnet.
Learn Bittensor pointed out that Chutes currently holds roughly 37,000 $TAO worth of SN64 Alpha in a smart contract for owner emissions.
If the Chutes team locked all of it for a long duration, any malicious actor trying to take over would need to exceed that amount and lock it for longer.
The cost of attacking becomes massive. And if the existing community does not support the challenger, they can unstake and crash the Alpha value, making the takeover economically pointless.
The conviction decay mechanic:
The score starts at the full locked amount, then decays linearly toward zero as time passes.
So if someone locks:
1,000 ALPHA for 100 days
▫️Day 1 = 1,000 conviction
▫️Day 50 = 500 conviction
▫️Day 100 = 0 conviction
The important part:
They cannot freely withdraw the locked portion while conviction exists. Only the unlocked portion is available to unstake.
At expiry conviction hits zero, and everything unlocks. This means owners can not silently prepare a rug.
If the subnet owner wants to keep ownership strength, they need to re-lock before conviction decays too far.
Const said it himself: "Exploits are what teach a system its weak spots. The quicker you find them, the faster you learn."
No other network in crypto has proposed anything like this 🔥
The standard response has always been that's just crypto or hire better lawyers.
Bittensor's response is to build a cryptographic mechanism Locked ALPHA turns into a time-weighted commitment score. The more size + the more time remaining, the more ownership power you have.
This is still a draft proposal.
BIT-0011. Being discussed openly. The design may change.
The network identified its weakness in real time, the founder proposed the fix within hours, and the community is now iterating on the solution in public
That is what an adaptive stress-driven growth system looks like.
Now, founder alignment market's can literally measure block by block

🔒Locked Stake & Conviction are Being Proposed for Bittensor
Subnet ownership may be about to change. BIT-0011 proposes that anyone can challenge for ownership of a subnet by locking their ALPHA stake and building "conviction."
Right now, inactive subnet owners can hold onto subnets indefinitely. 'Locked Stake' would make ownership a contest of commitment, giving motivated participants a path to take over neglected subnets.
How it works:
- Lock ALPHA on a subnet for a chosen duration to build conviction
- Conviction starts at the full locked amount and decays linearly to 0 at expiry
- Every 30 days, the staker with the highest conviction EMA becomes the subnet owner
- The EMA smoothing prevents anyone from briefly locking a large amount to "snipe" ownership

NOTE: This is a draft proposal (BIT-0011) currently being discussed. The implementation and design may change or be replaced completely.

We can’t beat Anthropic at their own game.
We need to start thinking about training models through completely new systems; ones that out-perform and move faster.
Affine (below) is a solution: a lab that’s just a market mechanism framing the problem “you have compute, you have engineers, how do you get SOTA”
Think of it like a global incentivized auto research which pays engineers/agents who lower the loss of a model against RL environments.
In other-words, it’s an AI lab but you get paid for contributing to the run by taking the current top model and training it further.
The beauty is that we let everything else stay mutable: how you copy, how you train, how you work, where you work, your compute procurement and your algorithms.
Just push us.
Turns out that’s a very hard game to line up especially when you exist in a global permissionless system which includes a lot of people that speak Korean …
But we did it, we trained our first model family, together, that out performed our base, first one in history and just the beginning.
Come mine with us.

🚨 BREAKING: Grayscale just filed Amendment No. 1 to the GTAO S-1 for $TAO. On April 2, 2026.
What you need to know:
The original S-1 was filed December 30, 2025. That was Grayscale saying "we want to convert GTAO into a spot ETF." The SEC doesn't just say yes. They send back comments questions, concerns, requests for clarification. The issuer responds by filing an amendment.
Amendment No. 1 is that response. It means Grayscale addressed the SEC's feedback, updated the prospectus with fresh details, and resubmitted. This is forward motion.
Filing now includes:
In-kind creation and redemption. NYSE Arca has already received regulatory approval for the Trust to conduct in-kind transactions, meaning Authorized Participants can deposit and receive actual $TAO, not just cash equivalents.
This is important. In-kind creates tighter arbitrage between the ETF price and $TAO's actual value, keeping the premium/discount minimal. Bitcoin ETFs with in-kind showed tighter tracking than cash-only versions.
Staking provisions built into the Trust Agreement. Shareholders already voted unanimously 100% consent to approve seven amendments in January 2026.
The Trust can now stake a portion of its $TAO holdings through Bittensor's proof-of-stake protocol, subject to maintaining grantor-trust tax status.
The Sponsor can charge a separate Staking Fee. This means the ETF can potentially earn yield on its holdings something the Bitcoin ETFs cannot do. $TAO staking currently yields 9-15% APR.
Dual custody with Coinbase and BitGo. Not one custodian. Two. Both institutional-grade. Coinbase as Prime Broker. Bank of New York Mellon as Transfer Agent and Administrator. This is the same infrastructure used by the largest crypto ETFs in existence.
Updated valuation methodology. The Index is shifting to CoinDesk $TAO CCIXber Reference Rate, pulling from Coinbase, Kraken, Binance, MEXC, Gate.IO, and KuCoin. Over 107 million $TAO in combined 90-day trading volume across these platforms.
The Index is designed to discount anomalous price movements at individual exchanges institutional-grade price discovery.
The Grayscale Bittensor Trust is being renamed the Grayscale Bittensor Trust ETF.
$TAO is now the 4th crypto asset (after Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana) with a Grayscale spot ETF conversion in progress and Bitwise has filed separately. Dual filings from the two largest crypto asset managers in the world.
When Bitcoin spot ETFs launched, they pulled in $12B+ net inflows in the first three months.
Every ETF share created requires real $TAO purchased and deposited with custodians. Every basket is 10,000 shares. Every creation removes $TAO from liquid circulation.
Pension funds, endowments, wealth managers, and RIAs who couldn’t hold spot $TAO before will soon be able to.
The filing describes Bittensor as “an open-access, peer-to-peer marketplace for AI generated output” with 128 subnets, $43M in Q1 2026 AI customer revenue, 21M hard cap, 68-75% of supply staked, and first halving already complete.
Sleeper detail: The ETF could stake its $TAO holdings and generate native protocol yield something no Bitcoin ETF can do.
Bitcoin's spot ETF went through multiple amendment rounds before approval. Each amendment brings it closer. The process is advancing, not stalling.
In a market where 75% is already staked, liquid float is 3.4M, and 236,619 wallets are accumulating institutional buying through an ETF wrapper, it doesn't just add demand It compresses an already thin float.
Stack quality subnets. The flywheel is accelerating. 🚀

Surely the idea of universal human rights has been shattered by now. The behavior of our governments and the people pulling the strings behind them show us, over and over again, they have no regard for We the People. Every promise towards the average man has been broken, every rule and every law has been violated whilst the Epstein class get away with literal murder. The tools of democracy are old and archaic. Forget your legal rights, forget thinking law is inviolable, forget thinking the elites will lobby on your behalf. The only hope is building and contributing to a system which they can’t take away from you, where the swarm is so large it will survive, where we don’t trust — we verify. Or they will pick us off one by one, and you will contribute to your own demise - which is to become domesticated cattle propping up the Elysium cabal, with no recourse and no ownership. This is George Orwell’s nightmare on steroids, wake up and claim your children’s future before it’s too late.
Bittensor is our vision for how we hold them back from robbing us of everything we have. Bitcoin technology built on p2p systems which engrave their ownership layers directly into the substrate of incentive alignment. Work that is open to all, by nature permissionless and open source. Liquid at the layers which keep the Machine Gods fast, but constrained by real immutability; your ownership.
