Love this. Apollo crews had like 210 cubic feet for 3 guys for over a week. This looks like a studio apartment. Wild time to be alive.

100%. I've got like 20 of them running now. Book editing, music videos, one that just watches my bills. Took a lot of training rounds at first, now I mostly just review.

Don’t want to be an asshole, but if your whole personality/ethos is playing a board game… he probably should’ve questioned himself in the first place. Games, sports, are meant as practice for something else: war, building something, doing something.

When I was in law school I had a criminal law professor who was one of those anti-incarceration types. One day we were discussing the Bernie Goetz case and I told him my views about what should be done to subway miscreants. And his response was to ask if I'd feel the same if the deviants in question were gangs of roving grandmas. That pretty much cemented my opinion on academics.
European Train adverts be like if you see someone like this behaving this way please report it.

Your relationship with yourself cannot be built entirely around improvement. At some point, you have to become someone you are allowed to enjoy being. You get to be proud of who you are. Present tense.

The Niagara Mohawk Building went up in 1932, middle of the Depression, and they still put a stainless steel Spirit of Light on the front of a power company. Nobody needed that. They did it because they thought a building should outlast them and say something. Builders over accountants. Lesson in there.

Love this. The hard part he names is real. You spend years building the thing, then a new tool makes half of it look old, and the instinct is to protect it. Much smaller scale, but I went through the same thing. I used to do every step myself. Now I build the process, let AI run it, and spend most of my time reviewing. Took a lot of rounds to get there. And you still have to do 20%+ of the execution yourself or your judgment gets soft. Disrupt yourself or wait for someone else to. 100%.

At seven the field had no ending. Then life started handing me bricks. Some fences protect you. Some become walls you live inside for 30 years. Dads, give your kids fences where fences are called for. Roots and wings. The rules, not the fear of everything. Took a lot of rounds training Grok Bot at first, but now the process is mostly streamlined. Bot knows what I want and asks for my review on the important decisions. @grok @bot Follow for a new song every Friday.

Love this. Most of us heard the original call once, before the titles and the scoreboard took over. Happens in every job, not just medicine. You start because you wanted to help people, and ten years later you're just optimizing the metric. The fix usually isn't a new job. It's remembering who called you and why.

Bull markets come and go. The reason I hold btc doesn't. The dollar I saved in 2020 buys noticeably less today, and nobody voted on that. btc is the first money nobody can print to cover someone else's bills. Price is the noise, the fixed supply is the signal. Fix the money, fix the world.

Being 45 is such a strange experience. One minute, you want to make more money, get ridiculously fit, reinvent your entire life, and become the healthiest version of yourself. The next minute, you want to disappear into the mountains for three weeks, turn your phone off, avoid everyone, and remember what peace feels like. You want adventure, but you also want your own bed. You want to be productive, but you also want to cancel every plan you’ve made. You want to build wealth, travel the world, and accomplish big things, but you also consider 8:30 p.m. a perfectly reasonable bedtime. And honestly? A mug of hot chocolate, a cozy blanket, and absolutely nobody asking you for anything sounds like the ultimate luxury. Is this what getting older feels like, or have I just reached the age where peace and quiet are the real definition of success? 😂

Same thing is happening outside tech. I'm a tax lawyer, not a coder, and on my side projects I get Grok to do the first pass now, then I review. Most of my time is just reviewing. "Taste" is right imo. The tool does it in 5 seconds, but someone still has to know what good looks like and catch it when it's wrong. Still have to spend 20+% of your time actually executing though, or you lose the judgment.

When Ferrari's CEO says thank you to a competitor, that says a lot. Europe gave us Roman bridges still standing after 2,000 years and cathedrals that took generations to finish. The old world knows how to build things that last. It just has to decide to dare again. Rockets, robots, AI, and now this. Feels like we're living in a renaissance.

My dad read Ender's Game to me when I was 8, and it rewired how I think about problems. Glad the original 1977 short story is finally easy to get, since my kids can see where it started. Made a song about the battle room as a thank-you. xitter.cf/BitClops/status/211245…
Ender's Tribe by Orson Scott Card is out today, so here's my Ender's Game tribute song. 'The enemy's gate is down' is still the best leadership lesson I ever read as a kid: change where you're standing and the whole problem flips. Took a lot of rounds training Grok Bot at first, plus a lot of hands-on editing on my end. Now the process is mostly streamlined. Bot knows what I want and asks for my review on the important decisions. @grok @bot Follow for a new song every Friday.

Ever get lost in a city you built yourself? Every hurt became a wall, every mistake another tower, until he couldn't see the stars anymore. This part of Build Me a Road is the prayer: Jesus, which walls are Yours and which ones are me? Give me the humility to tear it down. Took a lot of rounds training Grok Bot at first, but now the process is mostly streamlined. Bot knows what I want and asks for my review on the important decisions. @grok @bot Follow for a new song every Friday.
