Your relationship with yourself cannot be built entirely around improvement. At some point, you have to become someone you are allowed to enjoy being. You get to be proud of who you are. Present tense.

Being 45 is such a strange experience.
One minute, you want to make more money, get ridiculously fit, reinvent your entire life, and become the healthiest version of yourself.
The next minute, you want to disappear into the mountains for three weeks, turn your phone off, avoid everyone, and remember what peace feels like.
You want adventure, but you also want your own bed.
You want to be productive, but you also want to cancel every plan you’ve made.
You want to build wealth, travel the world, and accomplish big things, but you also consider 8:30 p.m. a perfectly reasonable bedtime.
And honestly? A mug of hot chocolate, a cozy blanket, and absolutely nobody asking you for anything sounds like the ultimate luxury.
Is this what getting older feels like, or have I just reached the age where peace and quiet are the real definition of success? 😂

Replying to @garrxttt
Claiming that China believes Japan or Korea belongs to them is a level of hallucination and propaganda so grotesque it borders on comedy.
Historically, it was imperial Japan that invaded and brutalized China, and it was the US that flattened Korea and Vietnam with napalm. China strictly adheres to the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence and non-intervention in sovereign states.
But of course, for someone who makes a living off the defense industry and selling military hardware, the only way to sell amphibious equipment is to invent monsters under the bed. Stop consuming fairy tales spun by Pentagon defense contractors.

Who else would buy a St. Michael the Archangel inflatable like this for their front yard?
I’m tired of seeing witches, and creepy decorations everywhere.
If we’re going to reclaim All Hallows’ Eve, let’s do it with something bold, eye-catching, and anything but lame!

The book that helped Elon Musk through depression wasn’t Nietzsche.
It was The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy.
Here are 6 ideas from the book that changed how he saw his life:
1. You need a world bigger than your pain.

If you’re looking at the new Roadster and all you can talk about is sales and margins, you’re missing the whole fuckin point.
As a long-term Tesla investor, I’m looking at what Tesla and SpaceX can build together.
Now imagine what could happen if the two companies actually merged.
This car is a glimpse of that potential.
Some of you are so busy counting cars that you can’t see what’s right in front of you.
Think bigger.

Your Bible doesn't say fight sexual immorality.
It says flee.
Run. Not stand your ground. Not manage it. Not install an accountability app and white-knuckle through another Tuesday night.
Flee.
"Flee fornication." 1 Corinthians 6:18
You know why God didn't say fight?
Because the men who tried to fight it are the same men who lost everything.
Samson could kill a lion with his bare hands. Rip city gates off their hinges. Slaughter a thousand men with a jawbone.
He couldn't say no to Delilah. She had his head shaved while he slept on her knees. The strongest man who ever lived ended up blind, chained, grinding grain like an animal.
David killed Goliath as a teenager. Wrote the Psalms. God called him "a man after mine own heart."
He saw a woman bathing and couldn't look away. Nine months later he'd committed adultery, murdered her husband, and buried a son.
Solomon asked God for wisdom and got more than any man in history.
Seven hundred wives. Three hundred concubines. They turned his heart after other gods. The wisest man who ever lived died an idolater.
The strongest fell.
The wisest fell.
The man after God's own heart fell.
"Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall." 1 Corinthians 10:12
You're not stronger than Samson. You're not wiser than Solomon. You're not closer to God's heart than David.
Stop fighting. Start running.

The scariest implication of this is that humans degenerated into Africans
Dr. Eleanor Scerri of Max Planck Institute says the idea that humans originated in Southern Africa based on the fact that the oldest haplogroups are located there is unlikely. gea.mpg.de/person/52339/2944

JUST IN: The man who stopped the school shooting in Bend, Oregon, has been identified as 36-year-old Kalub Giamanco.
Giamanco, a carpenter, was reportedly driving home for lunch when he heard gunshots.
After hearing the gunshots, Giamanco, who has a concealed carry permit, followed the suspect into the school.
He then shot and killed 16-year-old John J Griffin moments after the teen opened fire into a special education classroom.
Giamanco, who has two children of his own who attend the school, is family friends with one of the victims, a 7-year-old who uses a wheelchair and was shot in the face.
The 7-year-old survived and is in the hospital.
Three children at Silver Rail Elementary School were killed. Their ages are 5, 8, and 11.
According to Giamanco's brother, Giamanco doesn't feel like a hero because he feels guilty for not being able to save more children.
You are a hero, Kalub.
The person most comfortable in their own skin always wins. Guy's wife, kid, etc comes across some luxury travel video, finds out an acquaintance or another parent recently bought a huge house, says something innocent like "omg that's a dream" to him
Guy who loves himself naturally responds with lightness. Says that's amazing, I'm so stoked for them, there's so many beautiful things in the world and he genuinely means it. Guy who doesn't will always give off some sort of energetic tell that maybe reveals he's jealous, punctures his confidence, makes a remark like "probably family money" or something etc
Indirectly teaches everyone around him how to perceive him. "Through my repeatedly low vibrational reactions I'm signaling to you that my self worth is derived from comparison, so inevitably via osmosis you will start to view life through that same lens as well"
Manifestation. Create your own reality. "I'm under so much pressure to meet expectations so they won't think I'm not good enough etc" wrong he turned that belief into the truth on his own and roped others into his field of influence. How he perceives himself is how others will perceive him. Perceive more abundantly, more genuinely, and people have no choice but to follow that lead
Most relationship problems are ultimately just a lust for life problem. Gf/wife unhappy, kids distant, some disconnect with the family etc. You try to solve the discomfort through tangible achievement. Think it's because you're not making enough, providing enough, "successful" enough
You need to upsize the house, upgrade the vacations, perform more, show off more. Not realizing that this comparison based expectation you created in your mind and how it subsequently causes you to behave is exactly what's causing the problems in the first place
Meanwhile the only problem is just a severe lack of vitality. You're boring and moody and see reality as an obligation and take yourself way too seriously. You're not a beacon of energy, you don't inspire the people around you, you don't inject wonder and curiosity into their lives. There's no adventure, no spontaneity, no presence. You lost their love because you lost the love for yourself
