There are people inside and outside both Hindu and Muslim communities (in the U.K.) that gain from dividing these two communities. It’s critical that we don’t fall for it. I’m heartened to see this combined effort to improve the environment and life for everyone.

When Marlowe’s British Kitchen opened in Leeds, Rabbi Gilbert asked the Muslim owners, Jenade Yamin and Arabaab “Paddy” Munir if they would consider making it kosher as well as halal. They did not have to. It meant change and cost. Paddy thought about it and said yes.
Now there are halal and kosher fryers side by side and one long queue for fish and chips. Orthodox Jews, Muslim families, neighbours from every background, ordering the same national dish.
Everyone remained unmistakably themselves, they simply widened the table and in that small act, you glimpse the country we can still choose to be.
(My grandfather was a kosher caterer, known for his fish. I inherited none of his skill!) @JewishNewsUK
Basically, let’s go down the Nazi route to win over the racists and stop Reform.

they claim to care about us and our experiences but only when it was committed by a group of people they don’t like so they can turn us into a weapon for their bigotry. they can’t make it any more obvious they don’t care about us

I’ve never heard anyone from my family, friends or the rest of the Muslim community we know ever supporting an establishment of Sharia law. We like our British laws. Trump wants to start a race war, don’t fall for his lies.
The likes of Nigel Farage and Tommy Robinson don’t like that I can be both British and Muslim. They want their followers to believe that us celebrating our faith means we don’t love Britain. I was born here and I’d give my life for Britain. That scares them cause they wouldn’t.

Anyone who weaponises their country’s flag and uses it to spread hate is not a true patriot. I’m a British Muslim and this is my flag too.

Spare a thought for Tony Hill who has been working at break neck speed in blazing hot sun to rebuild the Southport mosque wall before the far right can return.
He said: “And if we have to build it again afterwards we will do just that.”
Pure and utter thuggery, they don’t give a toss about the victims and the people of Southport. Protecting the community from immigrants? They’re the ones destroying it on baseless assumptions.

🧵1/ Thread on the #Southport anti-migrant and anti-Muslim disinformation and propaganda. In this thread I highlight key spreaders of disinformation, the chronology, and some points about some of the inauthentic activity evident. I will focus on X.
Make people love nature. By doing this, you only invite hate and loathing.

Israel has dropped 6,000 bombs on Gaza. The Israel Air Force claims hundreds of Hamas militants are dead. But more are being created as Israel kill and injure countless Palestinians and make countless more homeless.

This is despicable. How can anyone carry out such vandalism is beyond comprehension. 😡😩😢
We are shocked and desperately saddened to learn that the famous Sycamore Gap tree at Hadrian's Wall has been felled overnight, in what appears to be an act of vandalism.
We know just how much this iconic tree is loved locally, nationally and by everyone who has visited.
We are working with our partners to understand what has happened and what can be done.
The incident has also been reported to the police.
