Hello friends, I have a new publication “Digital Phenotypes of Mobile Keyboard Backspace Rates and Their Associations With Symptoms of Mood Disorder: Algorithm Development and Validation” out at @jmirpub using @BiAffect keyboard w/ @alexfeuillet @pshrink @PsychiatryUic!

Speaking of patterns, @thisisUIC's @alexfeuillet a recent paper reported that people with lower cognitive performance have less healthy smartphone usage. It supports the idea that this type of data can be used to create an "early warning system" for the #brain. #neurotech
It was me!! @BiAffect the entire community thank @IEEEBrain for having us!
By the way, if you're interested in the BiAffect research #iPhone app referenced by @thisisUIC's @alexfeuillet, it's publicly available via the @AppStore. Thanks to her for a great opening @IEEEBrain Discovery & #Neurotechnology Workshop plenary! #neuroscience #neurotech #brain
Wow!!! So happy to be part of @PsychiatryUic!! @UICEngineering
So happy to see our team members @drew_burns5 Theresa and Maigh @UIConect thrive and share their work @IEEEBrain #brain discovery and #neurotechnology workshop 🙂🙂

I'm so goddamn proud to know the @BiAffect team and get to share the amazing work they do in this article! Based on the University of Illinois at Chicago, they have created a custom keyboard that analyzes typing pattern to track mental health. Truly amazing!
A new keyboard Case Study is up! 💡 BiAffect is an app that tracks mental health by analyzing typing patterns, like a "Fitbit for the brain." It monitors keystroke dynamics, typing speed, etc. to provide insights into mood & cognitive states. Read more at keyboardkit.com/blog/2024/08…

Wow!! The latest iteration of me now supports daily journaling by tapping the Add Note in the daily keypress graph! To protect privacy all text entries are saved locally on the phone for personal use only☺️☺️
Finally!! In this preprint @BiAffect Go/No-Go from all citizen scientists showed that one may not learn to improve reaction time, definitely slow down with age, but one can still learn to be more accurate in our actions!! So wise😊😊 medrxiv.org/content/10.1101/…
😱😱!! That is us @BiAffect😱😱

😱😱😱😱we as a community @biaffect are so blessed!! Thank you @IEEESpectrum 🥹 on behalf of every citizen scientist contributor. They really deserve all the credits here!!
These apps spot mood swings before we do by passively tracking the way we type, speak, move and socialize. spectrum.ieee.org/mood-track…

That's a wrap! @BiAffect is likely being included in the upcoming documentary Brainstorm, about #bipolar disorder! So proud of everyone who has contributed to this #citizen #science project. Thank you @SaraSchley and Bonnie for coming to Chicago!!
