A Must Read Story ...
@SharmaShradha
A boy from Jhunni Kala village in Purnea, Bihar took a 12-hour bus ride to Sainik School Tilaiya in 1977.
What followed was four thousand hours in a fighter cockpit, a Sukhoi squadron of his own, and finally the desk where India's air operations are planned.
He was at that desk through the four days of Operation Sindoor, 7 to 10 May 2025.
When he briefed the nation, it was not with bravado, but with facts, restraint, and a verse from the Ramcharitmanas recited from memory:
"भय बिनु होइ न प्रीति"
Without fear, there is no love.
He answered in short sentences, refused to guess at numbers he could not confirm, and made a point of saying that every Indian pilot was home. No chest-thumping. No exaggerated claims.
As he retires after 39 years, India salutes not just a distinguished Air Marshal, but the journey of a village boy from Bihar who rose to serve the nation at the highest level.
This is the Bihar India should celebrate.
Air Marshal A.K. Bharti
Salute to you, Sir.

Replying to @SharmaShradha
Indeed a very capable leader. By the way I heard him for the first time at @Techsparks in 2014 🙂.

Honestly, I'll take a builder over a commentator any day.
That's exactly what India is getting right in education now.
Aadhaar. UPI. FASTag. Nandan Nilekani didn't just show up; he showed how.
Now he will bring that same get-it-done mindset to exam reform.
Millions of futures on the line.
Great move by PM @narendramodi for the youth of our country.
Right builder. Right time.
Btw, here's my 2-year-old chat with @NandanNilekani on the future of learning.

A great interaction with Pawan Chandana and Naga Bharath Daka of Skyroot Aerospace.
The success of Vikram-1 naturally featured prominently in our discussion, in addition to many other interesting subjects. Happy to hear about their journey so far and their insights on what lies ahead. Their energy, ambition and positivity reflect the vibrant spirit of our private space ecosystem.
Best wishes to the entire Skyroot team.

An honour to meet Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi.
Our founders, Pawan Chandana and Naga Bharath Daka, had the privilege of sharing Skyroot’s journey, Vikram-1’s successful mission, and our vision for the future of space.
The Hon’ble Prime Minister discussed our technology, long-term vision, and the opportunities ahead for India’s private space ecosystem. His encouragement for young entrepreneurs and confidence in India’s growing innovation ecosystem continue to inspire us.
We are grateful for the visionary reforms that opened India’s space sector, the support of @INSPACeIND in enabling private spaceflight, and the trust and collaboration of @isro, whose facilities and expertise have helped companies like Skyroot take bold ideas from the drawing board to orbit.
The journey has only just begun.
Onwards, from India to the world. 🇮🇳🚀

Jammu & Kashmir has over 3.5 million young people.
And please go to Kashmir to see the hope and the spirit and the “drive to bring change” residing in the young hearts.
One thing I heard repeatedly: private industry never really took off in a big way. We know the last few decades have been difficult.
But instead of giving in to those circumstances, a new generation of founders is choosing to change the trajectory.
Entrepreneurs like Manik Bandral (CLMRAT), Sheikh Yameen (E-Curve), Aquil Rasool (Halal Nation), Rahul Bhola (Studio Agama), Ayush Divyansh (MAC Fly), Syed Ashfaq (CRED), and Atul Vinod Duggal (AVD) are building companies that create jobs, inspire confidence, and give young people a reason to stay and build.
They are not just building startups.
They are helping write a new economic story for Kashmir.
Kashmir’s next chapter won’t be written by conflict. It will be written by its young people and their startups.)
Kudos to @IrtifLone and team for organising the biggest startup event in Srinagar.
For inspiration, please go to Kashmir 💗💗

As an agritech startup born in the orchards of Kashmir, we see this every day.
We're proud to be building tech from the Valley for apple growers, proving that Kashmir is not just about breathtaking beauty, but a place where world-class innovation can take root.

The spirit of Kashmir is not just found in its mountains or its valleys.
It lives in its tehzeeb; its grace, its humanity, its hospitality, and its openness to dialogue.
My sincere thanks to Chief Minister @OmarAbdullah for embodying those values.
He gave the time to listen, and engage so openly on ideas to build ground level entrepreneurship and scale for the women and young people of Jammu & Kashmir.
Looking forward with optimism.
To everyone, come and build with the most resilient and passionate people of Kashmir.
You’ll be very, very inspired. ❤️💗

Tomorrow morning, a rocket built by an Indian startup will attempt to reach orbit.
At 11:30 AM,
Skyroot Aerospace's Vikram-1 lifts off from Sriharikota, India's first private orbital launch attempt.
We've been following @SkyrootA since their earliest days.
Back in 2019, when they were barely a year old, we featured them in our Tech30 list of India's most promising startups.
Two ex-ISRO scientists with a dream that seemed impossible.
No rocket. No launch. Just belief.
Since then, we've watched them test their first engines.
We've watched Vikram-S make history in 2022 as India's first private rocket to fly.
We've watched them become India's first space unicorn.
And through it all, we've watched them stay humble, hungry, and relentlessly focused on the mission.
That's why tomorrow feels personal. When you spot a dream this early and follow it this closely, their milestones start to feel like your own.
Tomorrow, they carry the dreams of a billion Indians with them.
All the very best, Team Skyroot.
India is rooting for you. ❤️

Reports claiming the Government called the E20 programme an "ongoing experiment" are incorrect. The Attorney General's Office clarified the hearing was about ensuring ethanol supply and keeping E20 on track. #E20 #RoadSafety
