It’s genuinely hysterical how the only reason LeBron isn’t universally recognized as a “killer” is because he doesn’t bite his jersey, publicly berate his teammates, and always take heavily contested midrange pull-ups at the end of games. In reality, he’s more basketball obsessed than anyone’s who’s ever lived.

Kobe is ranked 36th in defensive win shares in the playoffs. Bron is rank 2nd Jordan 7th. Kobe is ranked 161st in defensive rating. Bron rank 85th. Mike is rank 87th. Kobe is rank 231st in defensive box plus minus. Bron is rank 18th Michael 19th. Phil was not lying.
Kobe has TWELVE All-Defensive Team selections. That’s tied for the 2nd most in history. 2000: 1st Team All-Defense 2001: 2nd Team All-Defense 2002: 2nd Team All-Defense 2003: 1st Team All-Defense 2004: 1st Team All-Defense 2006: 1st Team All-Defense 2007: 1st Team All-Defense 2008: 1st Team All-Defense 2009: 1st Team All-Defense 2010: 1st Team All-Defense 2011: 1st Team All-Defense 2012: 2nd Team All-Defense How elite he was as a defender doesn’t get talked about enough 🔒

The cumulative data shows the midrange shot is a poor shot. However, most teams have one player, and some have a couple, who shoot elite percentages from midrange. For a coach to take away the midrange shot from a high-level scorer who has proved to be efficient is just silly. *Pay your mortgage in the paint and from 3. *Make your car payment with the midrange.
The average midrange shot in college is worth a 28% three. Long twos (15+ ft) sit at 26%, draw the fewest shooting fouls of any two (4%), and have the lowest OREB% of any shot (25%). There's a time and place, but relying on the midrange is minus-EV long term 👇

Since MLB went to the current playoff format, the team that wins game one of a Wild Cars series is 15-1. The Cubs really thought Matthew Boyd was the best option to win game one #cubs

If your college degree doesn’t have enough value for you to pay it off, it surely doesn’t have enough value for taxpayers to pay it off.

The gap between Burns’ putting stats and the confidence you feel that he’s going to make it in a big spot is enormous.

You know what they say ... It's best to go into the playoffs ice cold after traveling across the country twice, playing a doubleheader, and having your Game 1 starter dealing with shoulder soreness.

Wow, I had no idea this was controversial, but looking at the comments..... Lots of club coaches wanting their teams to trump high school teams. Is this really where we're at in high school sports? Because high school should trump club. Period.
I have apparently developed another controversial coaching opinion. If you join the cross country team, the cross country meets are mandatory. I know. Pretty extreme stuff. And if there is a club soccer game scheduled at the same time, we are still going to expect you to be at the XC meet. Apparently this requires explanation now. What surprises me more is the outrage this generates. "You mean they HAVE to go?" Yes. That's how being on a team works. We practice so we can compete. The meets aren't optional bonus content you unlock if nothing better shows up on the family calendar. I didn't realize "athletes are expected to attend competitions" had become one of my hottest coaching takes. But here we are.

I’m gonna piss some people off with this one, but if you’ve got money for beer, cigarettes, DoorDash, and all the other crap you don’t need, don’t tell me you can’t afford gas. Gas prices suck, but sometimes it ain’t the price—it’s what you choose to spend your money on.
