Bill Gates spent his money on mosquito nets in Africa. The Rockefeller Foundation gave massive grants (with Gates) to increase farm yields in Africa, which largely didn’t work or backfired entirely. Mackenzie Scott spent $ billions on racial issues, LGBTQ causes, climate justice, immigration advocacy. George Soros gave $ billions to far-left causes and electing communist DAs who let criminals back on the street. Reid Hoffman funded E. Jean Carrol’s civil lawsuit against Trump. Carroll couldn’t remember the year she was allegedly abused and called rape sexy. Laurene Powell Jobs’ Emerson Collective bought a far-left prestige magazine and advocates for immigration “justice.” Bezos funds climate and biodiversity research. And on and on it goes… Elon Musk bypasses the NGOs, the grifting consultant class, and the top-down ideological morass of the woke elite, and just pledged to put $10.5 billion directly into the accounts of America’s children. We will always have elites. We just need better elites. Elon is showing the way. God bless him. H/T to Michael Dell, also.
Next year, I will give one of my SpaceX shares to every kid in America. This will be the first of many.

A related thought… If we didn’t have 100 years of accumulated destruction of the wealth of private citizens by the motgagoooors, I wonder how wealthy private citizenry would really be ? When I see the destruction of savings in just 7 years since Covid, and you imagine how this compounds over the generations… F.
Elon Musk giving $10bn directly to American children is outrageous. We need a donation tax. You can’t just invest in their future without paying a commission to the people who’ve already mortgaged it.

Some Moats: 1 - physical world 2 - values-aligned communities 3 - two-and-three sided markets protected by tough-to-overcome cold start dynamics 4 - strong consumer brands 5 - networks of regulatory licenses 6 - excellent application of intelligence to problems - both UX & infra optimization, the new best in category
people are starting to realize. there *are* no moats left. the only true moat in existence was intelligence, and now that's out of the equation.

A little explanation here since this is prob confusing. I pulled a ton of sources on ancient rome and used them to build a blender model of the city based on the best guess of what everything would have looked like from the sources. then had the full ancient and modern scholarship on this triumph (theres a lot of detail in the old sources) and built a historically accurate version. The voiceover explains why the triumph is happening and that too is well sourced. Had a blast making this video and plan to do some more. Heavy Metal Rome 🪙

I hope you succeed in fixing this Joe. I was with an ex-General a few weeks ago, who runs a cyber security business implementing “encrypted tunnels” inside of gov’t systems to meet an upcoming regulation, and he told me that “the vibrancy of the innovative small company eco around defense has never been higher.” So it seems something is working.

Yep.
Airbnb is dead. Well it’s not dead but it’s going to be dying soon. The Bear case for Airbnb. I’ve been bullish on Airbnb as a company for many years. But my outlook on the business changed this week. Let me tell you why. In 2012 I purchased my first Airbnb property. Over the years that one property has turned into a portfolio of high-end Airbnb’s that generates almost $1M a month in rental income. Using ai agents for the first time this week has completely changed my outlook on the company. Airbnb is facing an existential threat that most of the market is completely missing. With Airbnb pushing its mandatory host-side commission to 15.5%, the middleman tax has never been higher. Enter AI agents. (Hark, Dot, Muse, Grok Bot, etc) Right now, booking a vacation rental requires navigating a siloed app and paying heavy platform tolls. But your AI agent won't care about Airbnb's brand wall. When you know the property you want to book and you ask it “what’s the cheapest way to book the property” it will query property management system APIs directly, find the exact same home, and execute a direct booking that saves everyone 15%. Airbnb's entire model relies on holding supply captive behind a closed interface. When AI agents can autonomously search, verify reviews, negotiate terms, and book direct with property operators, that walled garden turns into a leaking pipe. The middleman tax's days are numbered. I’m predicting that Airbnb’s growth rate will slow down significantly in the next 24 to 36 months. And within 5 years they will be seeing negative growth. The same can be said for most other online marketplaces that don’t have unique inventory that can only be booked directly on their platform and nowhere else.

I am the British whistleblower who reported evidence concerning Howard Lutnick, his links to Jeffrey Epstein, and Cantor Fitzgerald and BGC to the FBI in 2020–21. Listen to the BBC File on 4 documentary about my whistleblower story: bbc.com/audio/play/m002yx47 BBC News: bbc.com/news/articles/c9q28d… I later shared evidence with the House Oversight Committee, which subsequently questioned Lutnick behind closed doors. My disclosures also contributed to regulatory action in the US and UK, including a £96m HMRC tax assessment relating to BGC’s partnership scheme. I believe the true tax exposure is substantially higher. I also reported to the FBI and financial regulators matters involving Cantor Fitzgerald’s Relief Fund and BGC/Cantor’s annual 9/11 Charity Day. The personal consequences of whistleblowing, and the retaliation I say followed, have been devastating for my family and me. Mother Jones previously reported that documents I uncovered revealed a years-long business tie between Howard Lutnick, Cantor Fitzgerald and Jeffrey Epstein through AdFin, including a 2018 exchange in which Lutnick and Epstein discussed the company directly: motherjones.com/politics/202… motherjones.com/politics/202… Follow me here on X and on LinkedIn. I intend to share more of the evidence and the story behind what happened.
