ALT A flyer advertising the 2024 Canadian Bioinformatics Workshop series. It has a large blue banner at the top, reading "2024 Workshop Program: Canadian Bioinformatics Workshop Series" and "Registration Awards Available". Below it are sixteen icons, each paired with a title, date, and location of a workshop. The workshops being offered are Infectious Disease Genomic Epidemiology, Beginner Microbiome Analysis, Advanced Microbiome Analysis, Metabolomics Analysis, Introduction to R, Analysis Using R, RNA-seq Analysis, Single Cell RNA-seq Analysis, Pathway and Network Analysis, Help! What Statistical Method Should I Use?, Epigenomics Analysis, Machine Learning, Proteomics, Machine Learning for Medical Imaging, Pharmacogenomics Data Analysis, and Pathway and Network Analysis in Virtual Asynchronous format. More information is available at bioinformatics.ca.

ALT A yellow background with a map of North America made from dark blue dots. The title at the top reads "2023-2024 IMPACTT Mentees". On either side of the map are headshots of the four mentees along with their names and affiliations. White arrows point to the location of their universities on the map: Dr Aline Ignacio, University of Calgary; Dr. Karen Lithgow, University of Calgary; Dr. Akinola Alafiatayo, Memorial University of Newfoundland; Dr. Charlene Roussel, Laval University.

ALT CBW IMPACTT Microbiome Analysis Workshop on July 5-7, 2023 in Calgary, Alberta. Instructors: Morgan Langille, Laura Sycuro, John Parkinson, Hena Ramay. Course Objectives: Microbiomics, the study of microbes without first culturing and isolating the organisms, has become the principal approach to exploring the diversity, function and ecology of microbial communities. The CBW in collaboration with IMPACTT has developed a 3-day course providing an introduction to marker-gene analysis, metagenomic and metatranscriptomic data analysis followed by hands-on practical tutorials for each session to demonstrate the use of relevant bioinformatics statistical tools. Modules will consist of lectures covering both theoretical and practical components followed by hands-on bioinformatic tutorials guided by instructors and teaching assistants.
