This is very, very strong. Props to @AOC for her clarity in cutting through the AI executives’ propaganda and reframing the discussion. These companies can be prosecuted NOW under existing laws
New email from @AOC to her list with some of her most expansive comments yet on AI:
"Silicon Valley billionaires want us to believe that AI robots will destroy humanity. But the biggest threat to humanity are the tech oligarchs themselves."

Strange how "uncommitted" voters saying they won't vote Dem is a betrayal but Stevens voters saying they won't vote Dem is a warning.

Many people taking issue with Mamdani calling Netanyahu a war criminal don't even bother making the case that Netanyahu is not a war criminal - because by any honest reading of intl law he is.

If he is cutting $500M in spending on class size for FY27, what is left? Prelim budget had $543M; does that mean @nycmayor is only planning to spend $43M on more staffing &/or space next year? What is the new timeline, and where is the plan?

Democrats should be doing everything they can to force a vote and make clear that they oppose a war with Iran that an overwhelming majority of Americans opposes. It would be a massive failure of leadership not to do so.
NEW: Top Democrats are working behind the scenes to stop a vote on the Khanna-Massie Iran war powers resolution – a vote that would force every member of Congress to go on the record over Trump’s potential regime change war. capitalandempire.com/p/top-d…

it’s probably worth noting that for all of the right-wing narrative around Minneapolis being unsafe, there has only been *one* homicide in the city so far this year.
it happened today and was committed by a masked ICE agent

I agree. Mayoral control has not improved NYC public schools. The schools should have an independent Board of Education. Less top-down control. More community schools that offer health services, tutoring, connection to other services for families.
