Getting AI to write a joke: easy. Getting a room of 400 strangers to laugh at an AI story: a @NeurIPSConf paper. 😂 research.pickford.ai/laughlo…

Everyone is asking whether AI will take their job.
Let’s meet the people hiring.
For the first time, we’re bringing an AI Media Career Fair to Culver City Town Square, presented by AI on the Lot, the world’s largest AI media conference.
And every studio presenting is actively hiring filmmakers.
There are real concerns about what AI means for creative careers. A career fair doesn’t settle that debate. But emerging filmmakers deserve to see where opportunities are opening, who’s hiring, and what it takes to get in the door.
So we’re bringing local studios, agencies, and technology companies together with the people who could become their next collaborators.
Come see their work. Meet the teams. Ask what skills they need. Build a relationship that goes beyond submitting a resume into the void.
College students. Recent grads. Emerging filmmakers. Experienced creatives figuring out their next chapter. You’re all welcome!
Culver City has helped shape how stories are made for generations. Let’s help the next generation find its place here.
What’s one skill you think every filmmaker entering the industry today should learn?
And if you know someone trying to break in, tag them below.
Thank you @reactorworld and the City of Culver for sponsoring this event! #latechweek

Too how many “how I made it with AI” videos focus on how the AI works and not enough on the creative choices of the humans behind the work. And this is part of the problem of selling AI as part of the workflow. I get that as people who get paid or who are fascinated by what the AI can do for us, we feel the need to prize that novel part of the process, but it’s not doing us any favors when we don’t do a deep articulation of why we are telling the story we want to tell and the choices we made (why characters look, sound, and change the way they do). We desperately need more of that.

People don’t believe me when I say Seoul but it’s the number one city for AI adoption for content creation.
just met a guy who does ugc for higgsfield
guess which city is higgsfield's #1 by revenue? not NYC or LA
it's "Seoul"
every new technology has its frontier city, and for ai video that's korea
k-pop idol MVs are already using ai
&
tiktok shop's top brands like medicube and anua are all making ai content at scale
what's happening in seoul is coming to la and nyc next
SF nerds couldn't even imagine

Last week, my friend @BernieSu (3x Emmy winner) invited me to his private screening, my first time experiencing immersive film.
It’s an unprecedented format & the frontier of what’s possible when AI + creativity come together. I kept saying the commercial and creative space this could unlock is enormous. But the bottleneck was still latency. Their solution then was game-engine rendering.
Just one week later, @fal launched MiniMax H3-Max, pushing generation speed to a completely whole new level. And today @levelsio put that capability straight into a 24/7 AI livestream product.
It takes great taste and judgment to see what’s possible, and the conviction &execution to actually make it happen.
We’re thrilled to be part of this, collaborating with good friends and partners to build entirely new product paradigms.
What a time to live! amaze amaze amaze!!🪄🧗🏻♀️
Okay I built it!
🍰 Infinite Slop
levels.io/infinite-slop
An infinite and interactive AI generated live stream of slop that goes on forever and ever
Anything that you write in the chat is generated next and AI will try to connect it to the previous video so there's an actual sequence and story line
Idea by @marcantoinefon and @rehan_shei's original stream so I made it
It'd be very expensive to run this so @fal very generously sponsors this
They also fine-tuned the model that makes this possible for the first time, making Minimax H3 50x faster and as "Max" and it can now generate videos faster than you can watch them, very cool!
Let me know what you think!!!! 😊
