Stunning morning in my local woods. The Lesser spots were active all morning including at noon this amazing display of wing flicking and wryneck posturing plus an unfamiliar guttural call. @lesserspotnet

Recent watercolour of Hawfinches frequenting Yew in a local private garden.
With the help of Greenfinches and 4 species of thrush the berry feast has now all but gone.

Phenomenal views of this juvenile Honey Buzzard that toured Dungeness Point late morning. It flew low, directly over head, whilst I was stood in the Desert before drifting off north after being mobbed by a Kestrel. @DungenessBO

Eventually found a local LSW nest over the weekend just before the chicks fledged. This year a narrow stand of trees with a leaning stump above a ditch between grazing meadows was the chosen. @lesserspotnet

A welcome surprise in the neighbouring orchard today, this Grasshopper Warbler performing in the early morning sun.
Whilst recording the remaining Lesser spotted Woodpecker to fledge this happened.
