I’m on the faculty market this fall! NIH K99/R00 awardee using birdsong to study how brains learn complex skills across molecules, synapses, circuits, behavior & computation. Know a faculty search where I might fit? Send it my way + share! drewschreiner.github.io/ #neuroscience

Hello world! After my lab has been operating in "stealth mode" for 1.5 years, I am excited to announce that we finally have a website: huttenhainlab.com By the way I'm also hiring and looking for a postdoc with proteomics experience: postdocs.stanford.edu/prospe… #TeamMassSpec

Thrilled to see our paper "A Proximity Proteomics Pipeline with Improved Reproducibility and Throughput" published! It describes the automated enrichment of biotinylated proteins in a 96-well plate format for spatial proteomics and protein interactions. embopress.org/doi/full/10.10…

Beautiful work… This study is so exciting! Among many exciting findings, the authors found ultrastructural evidence for localization of TRiC/CCT in DA axons and the lack of axonal ribosomes in DA neurons, corroborating in vivo results from my graduate studies

Massive 10+ year effort in lab spearheaded by @leonardoaparrar and Kayal (secret account 🤔). Unreal cover by @EmmaVIDALL that says it all.
2023's final issue is out! cell.com/neuron/current Cover story is from @Roy_Lab_Thinks's lab revealing an unexpected physiologic role for α-synuclein phosphorylation in clustering synaptic vesicles and restricting neurotransmitter release. Read it here cell.com/neuron/fulltext/S08…

Nat Biotech recently published a provocative study claiming single synapse RNA-seq. Unfortunately, there is no evidence demonstrating droplet-based sequencing of single synaptosomes. They are likely studying random pieces of cellular debris. Our reply: nature.com/articles/s41587-0…

If you thought ATAC was cool, wait til you see DEFND-seq!🛡️🧬🔥 Single-nucleus combined RNA/DNA-seq using the 10x Multiome kit! Amazing work from @olsen_timr
Happy to share an approach to high-throughput, joint single-nucleus RNA/DNA-seq. Basically: prep nuclei for snATAC-seq badly on purpose and feed to the 10x Multiome kit for RNA/ATAC. Gives high-complexity RNA/DNA libraries instead. Hat-tip @olsen_timr: biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/…
