Kemi Badenoch is arguing for more North Sea oil and gas.
Has she forgotten that the Tories taxed the industry to destruction?

This decision is far too little too late. Drilling for gas and oil in the North Sea is a total no brainer. The only people who think this decision is "controversial" are eco-hysterics, Marxists and/or those utterly ignorant of all the basic facts of energy use and how the economy works.
Breaking:
The government has now formally approved the Jackdaw gas field and says it will start to supply British homes and businesses by the end of the month
It says that at its peak it will increase domestic gas production by 6%
John Healey, the Chancellor, is also announcing an ‘energy wealth fund’. It will use tax revenues from the North Sea to invest in green projects, with an initial £2billion of funding
Miatta Fahnbulleh, the energy secretary, says it will not stop the UK from meeting its net zero targets
Andy Burnham: ‘I welcome the Energy Secretary’s decision, which will protect hundreds of jobs and help keep millions of homes warm this winter. At a time when people are really struggling, it's right that we look in a responsible way at maximising the existing energy reserves we have in Britain that could help
‘We’re committed to moving towards renewable energy and reaching net zero by 2050. But even on our ambitious climate path, we’ll still require oil and gas as part of our energy needs for decades to come. That’s why we’re taking a pragmatic approach to the North Sea.’

Jackdaw approved.
But two hours later…
Where is John Swinney’s welcome? Where is his enthusiasm for Scotland’s North Sea workers and businesses?
His indifference is staggering. These are Scottish jobs, Scottish skills and Scottish livelihoods. If he cannot bring himself to welcome good news for them, what exactly is he standing up for?
“Stronger for Scotland.”
Aye. That’ll be right. 😏

SNP couldn’t fill up a hall despite insisting they're booming and independence is imminent. For three days, the conference centre felt like an airport at 3am, while loyal attendees were asked to suspend disbelief and slip into an indy dreamworld. Column⬇️ thescottishsun.co.uk/news/16…

Fuck it. I'm saying it. You want to know why I hate Muslim men so much? When I was homeless in 2023 I was put in a hostel with them - the Rennie Macintosh in Glasgow City centre. They showed me how much they hate white Scottish women. They told me to my face as they done it.
Bingo. But even when her store is looted and set on fire, she will blame French people for having created an inhospitable environment for the Noble Muslims.

ITV just led their evening news not with the French riots, but the news that a Reform councillor or something admitted to being racist when he was at SCHOOL, against the FRENCH. Al Murray must be shitting himself.

This is Mohammed Yaseen.
He was part of Al Qaeda and ISIS. He’s been accused of assisting bombings and beheadings.
He was jailed in Germany, and then came here by boat.
He was just freed having served 6 months in prison. He’s already broken his licence.
This is what the Tories and Labour have done.

A Restore Britain Government will do what needs to be done - civil unrest and rioting will inevitably follow. We must be ready for that, and the public must be prepared too.
What needs to happen will be incredibly painful.
But it is all absolutely necessary to save our home.

I don't doubt Swinney's sincerity, especially in relation to his wife and youngest son, what concerns me is his appetite for a fight or taking any risks.

Almost a masterclass on how not to answer a simple question. He was allowed to drivel endlessly and play down the clock. His feet should have been more robustly held to the fire.

It’s very simple:
Republicans' failure to address the economy and reach middle-class workers, plus the president's downplaying of Americans' frustration with prices, may cost them the midterms.
If Democrats win the House and Senate, this administration is toast.

Update:
The twins are feeding, thanks to a wonderful nurse last night providing us a schedule and bottle supplements for breastfeeding.
My wife is loving every minute she can spend with them, but will need six weeks to recover at home from injuries sustained during delivery, with roundclock assistance from me and family members.
Twin two is out of intensive care, and they can come home once they no longer need feeding tubes.
Looking forward to setting them down in their bassinet, and not needing to travel back and forth from the hospital at daybreak to shower and get clean clothes.
Thanks again for everyone's support and advice.

Trump’s diesel deal with Putin makes no sense (it’s also immoral since it will fund the ailing Kremlin war machine).
The US has no need of Russian diesel. It already refines more than enough for domestic demand — with 1.5m b/d for export.
Russia has no diesel to export. Ukrainian drones have taken out a third of Russian refining capacity, turning Russia into a net importer of diesel (from India).
The volumes involved are derisory. The initial Russian offer = 2.2m barrels. The US consumes 3.5m b/d.
The price of diesel at the US pump is between $6/6.50. That won’t change before the midterms. The deal does nothing to help Trump in these elections.
But it bolsters Putin and undermines Ukraine.
