“.. At the moment, we have more compute capacity than we have demand, and we have a lot of the tokens and processing power being given away in freemium solutions,” he told @CNBC. “Everyone in the AI race is running for a last-man standing position.”

How did we go from Delta pissing off Elon to flying cars to AI bubble popping to Universal Basic Income in two weeks?
This app is literally nothing but bot propaganda.

2027 is about to get crazy: according to Morgan Stanley, hyperscaler and neocloud free cash flow to hit its most negative point in 2027, with the shortfall even bigger once lease payments are include: just shy of $600BN in cash burn.
In other words, the year with the biggest capex bill is also the year with the biggest funding gap.

To save the neos, memory and chip prices have to fall, good thing they have ridiculous gross margins.

Musk had a person in a robot costume once.
Then Musk had a telemetry operated bot being controlled by someone offstage.
So calling out this stunt show as being a stage act isn't outrageous. He's done it repeatedly. And Optimus robots still aren't ready for primetime. And he's claiming he'll be making 10 million of them a year.
So by his own metric of continually getting the future wrong, he is a midwit at best?
Elon Musk just threw out IQ scores, degrees, and fancy vocabulary in one sentence. His definition of intelligence is brutal and simple: how accurately can you predict what happens next?
Not how fast you read. Not how many books you’ve finished. Not how well you debate. Just — were you right about the future?
Think about it. A chess grandmaster sees 20 moves ahead. A great investor sees where markets go before they get there. A great engineer sees failure points before they fail. They’re not “smart” because of how they performed in school. They’re smart because reality keeps confirming their predictions.
And the same applies to AI. Elon doesn’t care how fluently a model writes or how impressive it sounds. He wants to know: does it get the future right?
By that metric, most of what we call intelligence is just confidence wearing a costume.
And people wonder why no one likes these guys...

Quick, need government run restaurants.
BREAKING: The number of restaurants in New York dropped ~2,000 YoY in Q1 2026, posting its largest YoY decline in at least 36 years.
This surpasses even the worst contraction recorded in any quarter during the 2020 pandemic.
The number of eating and drinking places in New York State has now declined YoY for 4 consecutive quarters, its longest streak since 2021.
This comes as restaurants are facing surging operating expenses, including insurance premiums, wages, interest rates, utilities, and health coverage, with overall costs rising faster than national averages.
Last year, employee health insurance costs jumped +12.9% for New York-area service firms, business insurance rose +7.0%, while utility costs surged +8.5%, according to the Manhattan Chamber of Commerce.
Skyrocketing costs are crushing New York restaurants.

Or consumers reject Agents as dumb
Delta, Chase and Amazon are blocking AI agents.
The war on agents has begun, and here’s how it probably plays out:
Stage 1: Companies block agents because agents skip the ads and upsells.
Stage 2: Agents learn to act like humans, and it becomes an arms race.
Stage 3: The market splits. Companies that make money on sales let agents in, companies that make money on data charge for access, and the giants build their own agents.
Stage 4: A trusted middle layer for agent identity and payments becomes the standard way in.
Stage 5: Companies that welcome agents start winning customers from the ones that block them.
Stage 6: The agent blockers come back and let agents in on their own terms.
Stage 7: Everyone starts competing for agents with better prices, faster checkout and SEO built for agents.
Stage 8: The ads come back, and companies pay to be your agent’s first recommendation.
Stage 9: The agent war ends, and selling to agents becomes as normal as having a website.

Everything Yann said here is roughly correct, and Musk knows it, which is why he responded like a 14-year-old.
Calling @MKBHD’s video “hate” is misguided and highlights the nearly insurmountable issue the Tesla community has with criticism.
There was plenty to criticize about that unveiling and I thought Marques did an incredible job.
He is becoming a great force pushing against the growing movement in tech and now automotive of over promising and under delivering.
So basically he is done making cars...

Optimus and Cybercab will be the vast majority of Tesla’s value.
The only things that will scale to incredible size (K2 and beyond) economically are super intelligence, robots, solar power and mass to space.
And, of course, if you have the first two, the rest will follow.
But Roadster is super cool, so we’re doing it anyway.

$1.6 trillion in projected AI capex drives 5% of 2027 sales and 25% of sales growth.
Half of that capex is debt-funded.
Would be a pity if something happened to the debt market.
